Well I wouldn't say they are not as offensive, but the rules have changed pretty drastically. 2 minute periods, score not carrying over, push out, no real penelty for passivity. Not to mention the ball draw and leg clinch. Think about 9 minute matches, putting your opponent on the mat for passivity, wrestling on the edge (the zone) without fear of being pushed out. I could keep going, but the rule changes dictate the strategies. I think Jordan Burroughs has it figured out...

This is an amazing video, just gives me chills. I'm from Sweden and even though it's only American wrestlers that are shown I just want to get in the wrestling room and get to it. About as motivational as it gets.

is there a possibility of getting this video, or some like it to promote wrestling at my school? Like most high schools, we have a TV production class that runs a news/announcements program each day. I would love to have a short version of a video like this to promote interest. I would totally give credit to the creators and/or pay for the rights.

Geoff, really, really well done. As someone who's made a few videos, though none nearly this well, I can't imagine how much footage you sourced and how many hours it took you to get through it. The detail you put into your timing and transitions is awesome, not to mention the great voiceover! Thanks so much. Wish we had more of these to highlight what an incredible sport wrestling can be.

Disagree. Hindsight is 20/20... While both American upsets were stunning, Gardner took out a 12-TIME world champ who hadn't come close to losing in over a decade. Satiev was just a 4-time world champ (haha) in the 2000 Olympics. Just think you gain a different perspective by framing each match when they took place instead of 10-20 yes later

Great vid. If anyone is going to point out something lacking it would have to be that there are very few clips of the women. Might be time to do an all female highlight.

I am so thankful to have wrestling in my life! I aspired to be like my heros in this video, Smith, Schultz, Gable,and Saunders. I was never fortunate enough to be as great, or reach the heights they reached. Yet with that being said, I did not leave empty handed. I was fortunate to have learned a strong work ethic, and belief that hard work will never fail you. I learned that great opportunities often disguises themselves as impossible feats. Now I am grown man with the opportunity to help mold and prepare young boys to become men. Coaching wrestling provides me with a purpose that couldn't be replaced.

My son Geoff's video. Each one gets better, couldn't be prouder. He wrestled from the time he was 5 through college, now he is giving back and wanting to promote the sport.
