I had the pleasure of meeting him at the Junior Duals when I was wrestling years back and he was such a down to earth man right on the floor standing next to me as I warmed up. We were dualing a loaded Michigan team at the time with Andy Simmons and Roger Kish whom I wrestled closely and when I came to the bench he said good job son. What a cool caring man.

Watta coach. watta guy. Great to see the U of Texas wrestling room so packed! I remember when people said "That's not even a wrestling program"...well Jon certainly has resurrected it! It's even more amazing when you consider that Jon Smith was held without a NCAA championship back when he competed, and now look at him. Congrats to the whole Smith family, Emmit Smith is doing well in the NFL, as is Troy Smith, and their other brother Will Smith is a great actor. Their father (packers coach Lovie Smith) must be so proud.
