You guys don't even know what you are looking at while watching this match. After the first take down Beatty crawls off the mat instead of even trying to circle back in to avoid being turned. Then when Varner is riding Beatty just lays there with his hands stuck under his chest in order to avoid the half. How is that wrestling? When Beatty starts the 2nd on top he just puts his arms around Varner's waist, locks his hands and holds on for dear life not even attempting anything other than just holding on. It's funny how Varner is suppose to do all the work on top while Beatty just lays there and does not even try to get up....thus the stall calls! Nice fleeing the mat by Beatty as he basically turns and runs out of bounds, then he got his one and only takedown. I love the way after the next takedown by Varner how Beatty just cleans the mat with his face planted in it. And I don't even think I'd call Beatty's last takedown attempt an attempt, basically he just dove in and collasped on the mat, not good wrestling technique if you ask me. Varner dominated this match plain and simple and then gave the Iowa coaches some of their own medicine which is so fun to watch because Iowa thinks they have own the market on all their antics!

In no way did he break him. He was the one stalling the end of the match while Beatty was taking shots. He was favored by a major and he barely got it, so it was what was expected. If you want breaking, watch the Metcalf/Mueller match...now that is breaking! Make a guy not want to stand up and compete anymore, then run him over and lay him down like a baby. The signal the coaches made was at the match to their wrestler, not the other coaches.

Just out of curiosity, how did he "break" Beatty? Beatty wrestled a hard match, went for a takedown when he should have just stalled the match out so he would only lose by decision. Instead he went for a takedown and got majored. He also took Varner down--how many guys have done that? Not many. I would not call that "Breaking" by any means...

Varner is nasty on top. Having your face pushed through the mat gets old real quick.The extra stuff at the end is not for me, but good match.

I believe he was mimicking brands with the breaking symbol. Brands did it to ISU after dennis beat franthorpe. Tell your cali kid to come up with something by himself.
