that was not there 1st string. It was more like there 3rd string. Historically they have always been better as a country. They train for freestyle and greco (ONLY). We have folkstyle that gets in the way for USA wrestlers. |

Actually, in Russia, their main focus is not conditioning like here in the U.S. Most Russian wrestling clubs and teams focus most of their time on proper technique and not so much on conditioning. That is why they are so good and why they tool everyone else. In the U.S. we focus so much time and energy on physical and mental conditioning that when we go up against Russians and other eastern European teams, our technique is so rudimentary to them, that they know what we are going to do two moves before we do it. Technique prevails over conditioning almost every time, and the Russians are living proof of that. We need to adopt a style of training more like the Russians where every wrestling practice isnt a nut-busting, 10 pound losing practice. Most wrestling practices ideally be centered around technique where you break a good sweat and you get to softly drill and talk about nuances in technique with the other people in the room. |

With a correct level change, kneepads are not necessary for injury prevention. When people shoot with an incomplete level change, it messes their knees up. With a correct level change, the knee suffers very little force upon impact. |

I've watched this video twice and just noticed that barely any of the Russian wrestlers wear kneepads. Kinda weird since a lot of these guys wrestle |
