Besides a great funky wrestler him and his family (cousins) are great people.I had the opportunity of wrestling him in a tournament 3 yrs ago I was hanging in there "I thought" till I took the bottom position in the second period !!glad to see he had the opportunity to keep wrestling when DS. shut down the program !!Scott Porter
Copied from Pajama Pants interview post. As a freshmen at DSU, Matt Cathell claimed the 149-pound championship at the Wilkes College Invitational. He allowed just one point in his five victories to capture the first open title of his collegiate career. 17-0 Matt Morgenstern of Boston University, 12-0 Gabriel Burak of Penn, 11-0 Frank Molinaro of Penn State, 13-1 Seth Vernon of Oklahoma and pinned Aaron Nestor of Rider in 51 seconds. That's outscoring four opponents 53 to1. Some guys don't score 53 points in a season! Just a glimpse of what he is capable of when he is on.
This guy is great for wrestling. Yes our sport needs the Metcalfs, but it also needs the personality of some Cathels too. I wouldn't be surprise if this guy showed up matside with a Gumby doll.That can be todays trivia question. Which wrestling "oddball" does the the Gumby doll reference?
i've been watchin this guy for years... he's got dirt you've never even seen before... he's so dirty he's got dirt in cracks normal people don't even have... keep watchin... with josh moore this guy is goin places.
