RUSSELL LOOKS VERY ANNOYING TO WRESTLE, HE HOLD HIS HAND ON YOUR HEAD AND KEEPS YOU AWAY LIKE AN OLDER BROTHER WOULD IN A KITCHEN SCUFFLE. i HAVE SEEN HIM DO IT IN ALOT OF MATCHES!

According to his prior performances, history deams it unlikey he will win NCAA's. It also is very possible he could get knocked out in the semi's by one several upper classmen who will be more than ready to tangle with the younger, less battle tested Alton. Does he have the lungs to pull it out? If the Marion match was any indication, it woul seem unlikely, at this point.

Alton will not make the NCAA finals, let alone win it.

I don't think anyone is questioning what Alton is 'made of '.We all understand he is an extremely talented wrestlers who has a very bright future over the next 4 years. So does his brother Dylan, for that matter.

Not sure about unstoppable, but, he will be very, very good. When you say unstoppable I picture Jordan Burroughs, Ben Askren, Cael Sanderson type individuals.Maybe by the time he is a junior he will be mentioned in the same breathe as these guys, but, only time will tell. Russell is only a junior so they will both have several more battles in the future.

These two have some seriously kickass matches...

I do not see Alton making the finals come March, for the simple reason that I do not think he can beat Marion, Kennedy, or Thorn. But, we shall find out soon enough. Also think Novachkov can also pull out a win if they meet up.

No one is saying Alton is bad, or he is not a good wrestler. All we are saying is he is not as good as Russell is at this point. They have had three close matches, with Russell winning them all. Russell wrestles a lot of his matches in this manor. Low scoring and controlled. It definitely could come back to haunt him come march, but, that remains to be seen.

Russell will lose at nationals. You wrestle overtime if you have to. . . You don't count on going to overtime. The ref should take his fist out of his pocket and call that kid for stalling.

The only way Alton can beat Russell is by developing some new attacks from his feet. He's not going to duck or throw Russell. He's got to work on more low-level, ankle-pick stuff, IMO. More fakes and movement, less tying up. You need to have the lead to beat Russell. So long as it's 0-0 or Russell has a one point lead, he's in the driver's seat. And forget about it once it goes to the second and third overtime periods. Russell has a huge advantage there.

Let's face it gentlemen, both of these athletes wrestled this match (and frankly their other matches) NOT to lose instead of wrestling to score, score, and score. Want proof, how would Dan Gable had criticized this match? Enough said!

Both athletes are extremely hesitant in their commitments, again, a sign of wrestling NOT to lose. This type of hesitant wrestling will win many matches but in the end, as the big Russian freak in Rocky IV said, "YOU WILL LOSE!"

Russell has had no problem handling Alton. He has beaten Alton 3 times, and will do so again. Marion pretty much demolished Alton. And let's not forget Cal Poly's Boris N. My guess is that Boris will whoop Alton, too.

LOL. Yeah... all Alton has is a chin whip. SMH. Some people obviously know nothing about Alton.

And why didn't Russell "open up and go full tilt offense??? Sure he could have beat him by more than"2 points". LOL.
Geez, he's a freaking true freshman. So he had three extremely close matches with the number one guy. He almost decked the ncaa runner up, and gassed and lost a close decision. Pretty damn impressive what he has accomplished by wrestling guys with many more years of college experience on him.
I have watched him all threw high school and love watching him now in college. He is definitely my favorite and I am proud to be a fan of his. He is very exciting to watch.
