Zeke Escalera Joins the Elite

Latona and Zeke won 106, with Guida and Ragusin winning 100. If you haven’t heard of Guida, he spent his FR season as a tiny 113 as he was blocked by Kurt McHenry at 106. The two will swap weights this season.

Of the four brackets, and a reflection of what is traditionally true - Cadet 106 was the toughest of the bunch with the resumes of those placers superior to the others.

You may have expected to see Trelli higher, and perhaps Andrew Chambal appear, but their overall resumes don’t warrant it. Both lost to unranked wrestlers at their state tournament. Trelli beat only 1 ranked wrestler (Garcia) at Fargo, and he lost to two unranked and DNP’d at NHSCA’s. In Chambal’s bracket, the other 3 top finishers were all on the other side, preventing him from seeing a ranked foe.
