Often called a suburban school district in a rural setting, Southeast Polk features a 250-acre campus four miles east of Des Moines on Hwy. 163. Southeast Polk, located on the east edge of Des Moines, is at Iowa?s recreation center. The popular theme park, Adventureland, and the state?s only horse racing facility, Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino, are located in the district. A myriad of athletic and cultural opportunities are close by in Des Moines, and 11 colleges and universities are located within 35 miles of the district.
