I have to say, I'm REALLY surprised Mike McCormick missed this call (2 reversal at a minimum), he is usually one of the better/more consistent NCAA officials we have. What also concerns me is the fact that he and his assistant had a chance to go back and make corrections via the video review process and they didn't reverse the call...although, I'm not certain what changes are allowable during video review (anyone know?), maybe they are only allowed to change non-judgement calls (out-of-bounds, clock, illegal holds, etc.) through this process. |

This was a reversal and 2 back anywhere except Iowa. You can clearly see St. Johns arm flail to get himself off his back relinquishing any control he may have had. Doesn't matter if his other arm is just hanging around the leg. Demas established control with the cradle and turn and St. Johns right arm shows he lost control. |

Weighing in. I do not see much debate. Reversal and 2 NF for Demas. It is obvious that Demas had to try to adjust his position due to the official not giving the earned reversal destroying any theory that it would have been reversal and then another reversal. I also found it interesting how Demas tried to kick out his foot by kicking at the hands (chest area) and if you watch pretty closely St. John responds with a kick to the face of Demas. Pretty cheap in my opinion. |

second reversal... your a moron...if they had given 2 and 2 like it should have been demas would have been up 5-3 and wouldnt have bailed on the position. he had the corner and DSJ was trapped and couldnt go anywhere but the ref didnt give him the points probably b/c iowa threatened not to pay him if he didnt hose tOSU so he had bail on the position (at this point demas realized i need to get him flat on his back to just get 1 for an escape) he would have gotten the stalemate, restarted on top with a 5-3 lead. would have rode him log enough to get riding time which would have made DSJ have to get 2 takedowns to win and that wouldnt have happened. |

As soon as Ohio locked hands and covered the hips it was 2T. Probably also 2NF, but the ref may not have been in the right position to see a 2 count. |

When you're locked in a cradle, by definition, you're not in control...it doesn't matter where St. John's arms were. Definitely 2 for reversal and if it's a reversal, it's 2 back points too. |

If you have a front head lock locked up you have more control of your opponent right? But you don't have complete control so 2 points can not be awarded the same goes for this cradle. Sure Demas had a more dominant position but at no point in time he was in complete control of the situation. He never came out from in front to cover the hips and only held DSJ on his back for 1 maybe 2 seconds. The ref made the right decision and confirmed his decision during the replay. |

i love all of the he was in control. holding onto a leg while a guy has a LOCKED CRADLE and your leg hooked while you lay on your back is not control. |
