I have wrestled in the duals and watched them as a fan. There is no way the duals are as exciting as the individual tournament. Why not leave NCAA trophy as is for tournament and try and grow duals and give another trophy for that one? This years NCAA sold out in 10 min so I am not buying this we need duals to save wrestling kool aid. Dot sell our sport out for money. Wanna grow it then do a few simple things:
1. Why do all star dual so early in season? Used to be later in year.
2. Why hold all star dual in arena where it can only seat 3000 people? The hawks get more fans then that at a regular dual.
3. Centralize events where you get more attendance
4. Run NCAA duals after individual tournament and take top 16 to 24 teams and make duals after that
5. If businesses want to support duals then let them but don't take trophy from individual tournament

And will the money really save and grow sport? Didnt UNO have enough money to run their own wrestling program but ad and school still dropped it?
