Mike Mena was a 4X All-American at Iowa and of Hispanic origin. Trizzino brothers were Italian and both had great careers at Iowa under Gable.

I can't believe this turned into a "gable is racist" thread. I don't know Gable from a hole in the ground, but to make that assumption that he must be racist, by this one interview and his coaching past, seems to be a bit of a stretch.I mean really, how many hispanics, black or whatever people are even wrestling overall? I know in some areas it it likely bigger than most places, due to the demographics of a town or area, but the percentage is probably really low. And how many of those kids are going to places like Fargo, NHSCA, FLO or wherever to challenge themselves and get recruited? How many are winning? Bottom line is, colleges are in the business of recruiting the best kids who fit their program and coaching styles and who the coaches feel will perform at their best. It is not their job to have affirmative action while recruiting. If a kid is good, they will end up at a program and do well, regardless if they are white, black, yellow, brown, red, purple, blue or the infamous green.Here's a novel idea, watch the video, stick to the topic at hand and discuss that versus trying to turn this into some deep conspiracy about racism.

Mike Moyer's time has passed. Find someone else who has a vision and can get stuff done. Everything else Gable said, I agreed with except about Moyer. Actions speak louder than words and all we get from Moyer is words.And one person he didn't mention, was Dave Dean. That guy has done more for the sport of wrestling in the past several years, than most can say they've ever done combined.
