Jordan Burroughs is now an Olympic Champion after a solid performance in London. Thank goodness for Clarissa Chun for bringing home the first medal in wrestling for the US as she won bronze.

Good job USA! 9 months ago

Let me first of all Congratulate the wrestlers and the coaches. We must have a lot of World and Olympic level champions in the crowd and all over the US. This is the Olympics. The best wrestlers in the World and we are not going to win every single match. GG: What titles have you won? Let me refrase that. GG: What titles have you won on the World Level? I'm not trying to be a jerk, but if you are going to complain, do something about it. Be part of the solution. These guys are amazing wrestlers, they are all top notch individuals, and they are doing this in the chase of dreams. They are not making millions, most of them are living off of a very small stipend, and they are giving up countless years for this wonderful sport.

I don't have answers either, but when you are verbally attacking our athletes and coaches, I get a little upset. I'm very good friends with most of these guys and they are amazing. We do not have on our team; jerks, thugs, pre-madonna's, etc. These guys are individuals that you would like your daughter to bring home and date. It is frustrating to see some of the results, but I'm not upset with the wrestlers or coaches. I'm upset, because I see what these guys go through. I have witnessed these guys train, diet, prepare for a dream and only one person has achieved that dream so far. (Maybe tomorrow 2 more will.)
These guys need support and fans that care enough to back them through these tough tournaments. Like I said, if you are not happy with the results. Lace em up and go take the spot held by the guy around your weight. I hate to see our guys lose and hate to see them struggle, but this is not your local Saturday morning tournament. Good job USA Team Members and Coaches. Everyone has some work to do, but this fan is proud of you. Good luck tomorrow to Varner and Frayer and hold your heads high when you return to your home town, college, training facility, or where ever your life is going to lead you.

In a perfect world, you guys would be on TV during prime time and Bob Costas would be on a web site talking about rythmic gymnastics. We appreciate your coverage. You guys have elephantitus of the nuts, messing with Tsargush and editorializing about the scent of Iranians.

Great is having 2 wrestlers go 9 months ago

We have not been a dominate country in Olympic wrestling since the 96 Atlanta Games. Historically we have been the most dominant country in Men's Olympic Freestyle Wrestling, but now we are getting handled by the rest of the world. One would think that combining our historical dominance in Men's Freestyle, plus the fact that most the US has spectacular women's athletes that we would dominate in the Women's Freestyle, but we only have a total of 4 medals in the past three Olympics and cannot compete with the powerhouse Japanese women. There is no shock that Greco is dreadful.

GG you are spot on with that critique.

GG, our FS team has been doing great today

Great that Burroughs won gold. But as a team, looks like it will be pretty much a repeat of 2008: one standout, and the rest of the team mediocre.
