Coffee talk's a good addition. Christian "crack pile" Pyle must be jaded or just biased. His rankings are way off. Ruth's tougher than Taylor hands down. Dake treated Taylor prison style at Freestyle. Only difference will be that the match will be closer and much more boring. Cuz folkstyle's just way more boring to...Watch, wrestle, and coach. A push needs to be made to eliminate folkstyle wrestling at all ages. Then USA wrestling would dominate the world.

I typically try to not address anonymous posters.

However, there's no consistency issue. Ranking Division 1 college wrestling is completely different from ranking high schoolers. There are TONS more variables with the high school kids that make it a bear to rank(and I admire Willie's ability to sift through the myriad of results and produce a high quality product).
I don't rank based on Hodge voting. I rank based on last years results.
Taylor, Ruth and Dake are all National Champions.
Tony Nelson is also, and Z is a 1xAA who got 7th and I STILL ranked him in the top 10 p4p. I thought I'd get heck for putting a 1x 7th placer in there to begin with. There's something to be said for staying healthy and finishing a season, which is why Nelson is ahead of him.
Why would I create a list of people with the most NCAA titles? That's not a ranking, that's just a list showing who has the most accolades. Certainly you could do that. Pound for pound looks at lots of different variables from the last season the competitor wrestled.

consistency is a problem with the P4P.

For instance, Willie recognizes Nelson should be higher despite the head-to-head because Nelson has the hardware.
But, with Dake, the hardware nor the head-to-head matter.
If FLO wants to put a ranking product out, one thing easily controllable is consistency. Remain consistent in all evaluations.
It seems obvious, there is no real argument where Taylor should be ranked higher than Dake, NONE.
If you take the time to read what Christian's rational is, it makes no sense to apply that kind of argument to a P4P list. His rational basically has to do with who won the Hodge, who was 2nd in the Hodge and then Dake. His rank is not a P4P, but a performance rank of who had the more dominant season last year.
