Check out year three of the sickest summer season folkstyle duals in the land. This years High School field is stacked with though competition from all over the Northeast.

U add NH up there but go to barn whole team at pop and flo was from their club

Some coaches don't care. From NH or NJ Its all about the winning and exposure of the club. A kid could be in the club room (paying good $$$ to be with the club) every day but if you are not a state place winner, the coach don't want you. I have seen this first hand. No wrestle off and the coach saying another kid will be at that spot but does not go to the club even if he is from another state or two states away, they just want the best.
Now if they take a kid who doesn't wrestle for them are they making them pay to go a event as well? This is my biggest concern!!!!

@NJ Wrestler as a former wrestler for Mezz and still involved with the Iron Horse family, Mezz doesn't offer anyone money so whoever you heard that from is straight up lying to your face and/or you're making that garbage up. The only thing we get is Iron Horse gear that is above all the clubs "gear". Mezz does a lot for his wrestlers and anyone who does wrestle for him either on the team or in the room. And anyone who didn't want to wrestle for Iron Horse can say no, if he paid people don't you think he would have bought a heavyweight off another team before the tournament haha.. SMH

I have bounced around to most of the clubs in New Jersey for most of my wrestling career. I started going to Apex last year because they have like 15 all americans in the room every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday in their high school classes. No other club that I could find actually has a room like that. I have trained in the same room as every kid on their pop n flo dual team. I seriously have trained in the same Apex room as every single one of them. Here are some facts:
1) every guy on the Apex team trains at the club. Some are more consistant than others, but it's like that at all clubs.
2) Apex has depth. They brought 2 full teams, and the B team went 4-1.
3) Iron Horse had Gravina, Johnson, and Jenco from Apex.
4) Triumph had McKenzie, Hertling, Devito, and Pozsyoni from Apex.
5) CJA had Farley and beshada from Apex.
6) Atlas had the Shea brother from Apex.
7) Apex didn't have Ashnault (NE Regionals), Sebastian (NE Regionals), and Mastriani (family commitment). With any of these guys, they win. With all of them, it's a blow out.
8) Iron Horse had a team composed of kids from the Edge, Apex, Scorpions, SIR, Elite, Triumph, Rusty Reid's, ect. Gary offers them all money to wrestle for him. He offered some of the kids that I train with.

These are all facts that I am 100% certain of. There is no opinion involved except for #7- predicting an outcome. I'm not as talented as the kids on the Apex team. I would have loved for my coaches to pick me, but I understand that my best teammates should go. I heard the Ex-Cell was an all-star team, but I don't know if that's true. They probably are the best club in NY. What I do know for certain is that I train with all of the kids on team Apex and many who weren't in what is possibly the most competitive and talented room on the east coast.

Thank to the director of the tourney, friends, coaches, wrestlers, and fans, for the well wishes and prayers for my son who was hurt in the final of the youth division. Smitty's Wrestling Barn's 145, all test came back negative and he's fine?

That's why nobody in New York State likes the Long Island kids. Because sometimes they are classless and complain about everything.

I was talking about similar to what the Pop & Flo did. Each club lists all extras, kids from their club who wanted to wrestle but the clots were already full. Then the club who was missing a weight would pick one up. I know some teams would be as strong but you get more registered clubs kids wrestling. Pop & Flo did that but only after clubs filled their own holes.

Real "clubs" could compete if everyone followed the rules. Some just wanted to win any way possible. That being said, although every team wanted to win, most wrestlers just wanted good matches. They got that. I unfortunately have to say, Excel coaches and some wrestlers were classless all tournament. They fielded an all star team and mocked and cursed at their competitors they were dominating. The even were looking to get a APEX wrestler disqualified before the final match even started. (Richardson from APEX DQ'ed his match againt Iron Horse for too many penalties). Excel went to refs hoping he couldn't be in finals. Great competition and great tournament overall.

I think the two most competitive "ALL CLUB" teams where Triumph and Ragin Raisins who wrestled each other for 5th and 6th place.

If you "fill" a hole with a kid from another club, just to give the club with a kid in that bracket a match, it should be an exhibition. The team that actually had the kid should get 6. Again, just opinion.

Not that I know much about any of this, But I would think Holes could be filled by extras from other registered clubs, That way more Clubs are able to get more of their kids the great experience.

"The Truth" has it mostly right. Real club teams probably cannot be completely competitive. A true "who's the best club" competition would require rosters posted a couple of weeks before the tournament and a challenge system to figure out the rent-a-wrestlers. IMHO, if a team can't fill a weight class they should take the forfeit, but once you have one team recruit for that vacancy every other team is going to do the same.

If the participating team doesn't have an actual physical address where they practice at together, it's probably not much of a team at all. When coaches are showing up and handing out singlets like candy, it's probably not a club team. I don't know if this is billed as a "club" competition, but if it is, then they have to figure a way to keep the recruiting down to a minimum. Just my opinion.

Its funny how people say we need to eliminate teams that recruit and aren't true clubs like team x-cell (they don't have a club facility or practice together). People say apex is a true team. False (i know for the truth so does any NJ spectator of the sport knows that some kids on apex don't even attend their club.
Over all, teams like Triumph NJ are legit club teams every kid on that lineup goes to practice on WED and Sunday. there team is legit and very tough figuring they do not recruit at any weight. Bravo to them.

apex is fair? clagon personally told me he dosnt go there and to add insult to injury caputo was from new york! section one..... xcel had an all star line up becauae long island is full of them

Well its kinda stupid to go into a gun fight with a knife! Its simple stoop to their level and have nj stack a team and go in there and wipe the floor with x-cell!
