My son was apart of the Team that Steveo wrestled on at VAC last year. Steveo and his dad were down to earth humble people. Not to mention the boy can flat out wrestle. He went undefeated that weekend, beating some very good competition.

The Anonymous Coward called Steveo's parents, "Self - Promoters" Are we not all self -promoters, when it comes to our kids. If my kid gets an "A" in school, wins a big tourney, or catches a big fish, I love to tell all that will listen. If a camera is around, I would capture the moment, as well.
It also sounds like your jealous of Steveo's success. WHY?
The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has it's limits.

Anonymous it's apparent that you openly cross lines and know nothing of limits.

"In the know" is the same clown going around here a couple years ago telling posters how they do not appear to "have the the same class and character" as Dave Rella when he was busted for DUI...now "In the know" is here bad-mouthing people like Crookham who he doesn't even know (just like Rella, which is ironic). How ironic this classless baffoon calls himself "In the know" - lol.

Hate the parent,

Hurt the Kid!
Is this how things are done on your so called "circuit" Stay in PA you worm.

Anonymous Coward 1 year ago

Just To clarify ... You claim it is all about the kids yet you say the "kid" can't get on a dual team because his father is an idiot. Doesn't sound like its about the kids and more your personal preference of parents Not sure I would even want my kid on your dual team, whatever that may be.

ryan crookham 1 year ago

Like I said before, Thx for the kind words. I would prefer that my family be left out of this but I can't control what people say. This chat was supposed to be about Stevo, his sportsmanship, and how impressive he is on and off the mat. My only regret is that this has turned ugly, and it takes away from that purpose. Again, introduce yourself, I promise I will give you a big hug and kiss (on the lips).

In the know=dirtbag. Nuf said.

In the know 1 year ago

Anyone that knows the story behind this knows Crookham is an idiot, that is why his kid can't get on a dual team. As for Steveo the publicity machine, his parents were braggerts the past couple years, and now want to soft shoe out of it, and just say they were promoting the 'sport'. I, nor anyone else that posted here, is bashing either kid--just their idiot parents. Mr. Crookham has burnt more bridges than he cares to admit.

agreed! 1 year ago

Some people think bashing 9 yr old boys and there families is just "havingfun" Its nice to see the wrestling community is not real happy w it. People know who the bashers are but they do not seem to stop. The duo is just showing there true colors.

Wrastler 150 1 year ago

If you're taking time out of your day to bash a 9yr old kid, you're most likely a dirtbag in real life. I mean really, who trashes a 9yr old?

I have kids and know if someone bashes them, I'll stand up for them because I'm their dad and if I caught the person who did it, I'd confront them and likely punch them in the face. Not because I'm some kind of tough guy because as parents, its our job to protect our kids. That's what parents are supposed to do. Especially against dirtbags.

Another PA Parent - what's with all the hate? Was your kid demolished by Crookham or Stevo? Are you mad that they don't wrestle on your team (anymore)? These parents are an asset to the sport, and are great advocates for youth wrestling (beyond their own children). The sportsmanlike way their children behaved is a model for other children in this sport. I hope for their sake that your child(ren) and team(s) do not imitate the same classless behavior you've shown here.

steve pyle 1 year ago

Yo crooks .... let the haters hate bro. keep doing your thing and let that "crew" implode on there own. i would not advise offering kisses and hugs though, i hear neither one of them is that attractive. lol. tell the fam i said hi. see you in erie, peace.

This kid is well spoken for a 9 yr old.

Snatchsingles 1 year ago

OK Snatchsingles is here to give my opinion on this issue. This is a very busy time for me right now, with the NFL draft just being completed. I have expanded Team Snatchsingles to also scouting Pee-Wee football players for the NFL draft guru's so they can get a 'futures' contract (much like we do with youth wrestling). With that being said, let me preface my opinion with the statement 'youth wrestling is the closet thing to God you can find on earth'. There is nothing on this earth more important that the outcome of a 55lb midget match. Nothing.

Since there is nothing more important that a 55lb midget match, then it goes without saying that the highlight clip reel is a complete necessity to get your bantam/midget wrestlers name out there for the college scouts. Youth Wrestling is highly-competitve and these college scouts are looking for their starting roster in 2022, and they are starting NOW. I like the Winnebago with the advertisement banner, but why stop there? I have Team Snatchsingles in the works to place a banner at Times Square. I also intend to have an airplane do a fly-by banner at next years War at the Shore. Youth Wrestling parents need to get inventive to get their 9yr old as much exposure as they can, and they need to do it NOW.

Another PA Parent 1 year ago

I was told that the infamous Crookham family was on here acting like they are saints or something, LOL. This is the same family that disfames people on the PJW site, and makes bigoted comments about inoccent volunteers. Mr Crookham is one of the most hated people on the PA circuit. As for Steveo and his family, I have no real opinion either way--it just seems like they self promoted in previous years, and are now trying to back-pedel out of it saying it was 'just for the sport'.

bystander 1 year ago

nobody should be attacking each other, even in defense or protecting anybody. This is a great kid and thats all people should be saying. nobody needs to be making enemies or drawing dividing lines. Wrestling is a family and I respect anybody who has participated in the sport, i think we should start acting a little bit more like a family and support some of your younger members. I believe this is the greatest sport in the world because of the people that are in it and the people it produces, it would be a shame if it were tainted by parents.

bystander 1 year ago

honestly everybody should chill out about this. its youth wrestling, at this point it should just be for fun, nobody needs to talk about any body elses children. If anything you should be happy for the success of other children. This kid seems great but whats the need for promoting your son this much, i could see making the videos because they are cool and inspirational and how if it was my son i would be incredibly proud but this can be taken too far. Once again everybody chill out, this is youth wrestling; it is supposed to be for fun and too many people are making it something its not and shouldnt ever be. Chill out

Stevos Mom 1 year ago

I appreciate others support. I have heard a lot of horrible things about our family. I try not to get involved or let it consume me. We understand that we live in a world full of hate. We focus on the positive. Stevo will never ever be exposed to any Internet negativity. He has no idea how many haters Are out there. When parents come up to us and him at tournments and say "if it wasn't for Stevo, my kid wouldn't be wrestling.". Or when kids come up to Stevo and say they watch his videos before their matches to get them pumped.". These are the things that keep us going. What I don't understand is... Do these people want us to push the DELETE button on everything. I feel like all this "stuff" is a blessing and it is what we choose to do with it that will define his future. Once again we truly appreciate all of the friends we have met along the way. The haters will hate. But we forgive and move on.

Anonymous Coward 1 year ago

to stevo's mom...
you seem to have a great kid that loves what he is doing, i just hope he doesn't have to hear all the negative crap that comes his way. as a kid me and many other kids like me (including your son) have had to deal with people that are what you call JEALOUS. oh you made a highlight video of your son. so what, many people have done that and with no negative feedback. the difference is, with your son he has TALENT and shows PROMISE. and one of the great past-times underachievers have is tearing down and belittling people that are greater than them so they they can feel better about themselves.
To Stevo...
You're a great kid, keep doing what you do and keep your heart in the right place. always remember that people always try to tear down those around them that are superior and remember that there will allways be haters.
to the anonymous cowards...
did you really just take the time out of you lives to bash on a talented and humble 9-year old and his parents who are (understandably) very proud of him and the bright future that lays in front of him?

it makes me sick to hear so many people taking low blows at a nine-year old, just to make themselves feel better. pathetic s...

Don't hate this kid 1 year ago

This kid is a product of an environment that makes him a winner. His parents support him and do what it takes to make him great. Now that we have the internet, we get to see what future champs are doing at a young age. People want to knock other people to justify their own mediocre lives. I don't personally care if Stevo wrestles his way to the top of the Country or World when he is older. The example that his family sets will translate into success in whatever this kid wants to do. If you have the desire to give your kids the tools for greatness, more power to you. There are many sports parents who rant, rave, complain, and push too hard and their kids aren't even good athletes. This is a kid who's got it and has a family that is nurturing it.

Not all of PA are Haters 1 year ago

Hey I'm a little past the youth circuit but I think its pretty neat to see him, no one said he is the best ever, just an enthusiastic kid doing his thing. Good for him and from listening to the video he sounds like he hasn't gotten carried away with the attention

Stephen Butler 1 year ago

I normally try to stay out of the pit, but reading some of this really bothers me.
I got the pleasure of knowing Stevo and his father last year when I picked Stevo up on our VAC dual team. Of course I was aware of all the hoopla, but the kid wanted to wrestle and that was good for me.
After spending 3-4 days with Stevo, his father, and his grandfather in VA, I get baffled every time I read the ridiculous comments I see on threads like this. Stevo is a polite and humble young man. He is a normal 9 year old and a great little wrestler. Stevo's dad is your typical father and a great guy to be around. There was no side show, no ego's!
Stevo hung out with our dual team the entire event(Hotel/swimming pool) and every parent on that team formed the same opinion, great kid, great family, and also just happens to be a great wrestler!!

Stevo's dad made a highlight video of his young son, to motivate him, whatever, nothing different then many fathers do. I know so many that do the same thing with the best intentions, as I have done it for my son. The only difference is it caught on and went viral.
I suggest to all of you who come on here to bash a great "9" year old kid, you read your bible and the part about judging others. I also suggest you actually take a few minutes to talk to Stevo and his father, if you did I think there would be one less ignorant comment on future threads about Stevo.
