it's simple:
any time david taylor comes up against someone decent, he mentally cracks. he gets nervous. he gets scared. he wrestles like a timid 4 year old girl.
you want proof. go to youtube, and watch his match vs. bubba. also, this is not on video, but anyone who watched the NCAAs in 2011 will remember how scared DT looked when he ran out to the mat

@college wreatlers; word from a friend in Iowa city is that dake got beat by paulson because Paulson was much stronger, whic is reasonable considering dake went up a weight class

Domination, complete and utter domination. . . Any doubts about Taylor winning a watered down class. . . Or maybe just maybe Dake is far better than he's been given credit. When was the last time a one time NCAA champ was favored over a three timer. Anyway, now that the dust has settled, the Kid reigns supreme. As for Taylor, maybe he should stop avoiding Ruth. Maybe just maybe. . . nevermind, Ruth will just continue to smash him. . .

The disappointing thing about this is that 2 of the best college wrestlers this year were manhandled by opponents. Howe and Paulson are much better than these guys and Jordan Burroughs are better than those two. Russell didn't show much at 60, either. Only Stieber looks ready for prime time in freestyle. By comparison, last year Burroughs went from college to world champion a few months later.

What were the scores of the Taylor-Howe match? That one i missed...

Everyone will look back on this past year and understand that 65 was such a weak weight class. DT is so over-rated and when he faces some real competition he folds like a cheap suit.
