Check out the new Dan Gable statue outside of Carver-Hawkeye Arena on the campus of the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA. Mark Bader shows us the statue just one day after it was erected as the Olympic Trials make their way into town.

I think they were supposed to make him pointing with the extended hand....ie the opponent is stalling. Saw the photo they modeled the statue after and it had a finger extended. Before officials wore arm bands they would hold up the stall call and point to whoever they were calling.
