Gotta respect both wrestlers, both class acts and very fun to watch compete.

I expect a closer match at nationals, honestly. Its not often you see Stieber get no takedown when he is so deep on a shot, but thats a great testament to Oliver's shot defense. I also dont think Stieber gives that takedown up at the end of the match typically. Being down in the last ten seconds, I feel like he felt obligated to try that dive roll to the leg to get some desperation points. Still, Oliver is two-three points better in this match.

lets be honest it has to be
1.oliver (gotta be number 1 only loss to ramos in a hostile environment)
2.stieber (man handled ramos, beat up carter, got beat up by JO, the loss to dardenes im willing to say was a one time thing)
3.ramos (redemption win over carter puts him here)
4.carter (good but not as good as the above 3 but better then the next tier)

All things equal, JO is an NCAA Champ. He should be first, Steiber at second, third goes to Ramos, fourth goes to Futrell and fifth to Dardanes. Carter lost twice which will drop him out of top 5.

It will be a fun tournament in March!!

Jspar, u spot on with the recovery time thing. Man does JO look like a totally different wrestler when he has 5+ hours of recovery time vs maybe 1 in a regular dual. He was just too big, strong AND fast. I mean other than the initial takedown he really didnt show razor sharp technique he just manhandled Logan like he was wrestling a 125 pounder. In a single dual meet Logan has very good chance at beating JO, but in a tourny style meet, everyone can forget it this year, sry.

Chris Dardanes boys, controlled Stieber in less exciting fashion, and lost to Ramos who would have been stalled out anywhere but Iowa City. Easy if you don't have to take a chance. It is a fun eight class and the final four will help decide these seeds too.

Keep in mind how Oliver lost to Ramos. He lost off a caution and not to mention it was an hour before weigh ins. The later in the day the better JO is. Stieber pounded Ramos so Oliver is the clear number 1. When it comes tournament time you have to put all the little things into affect like longer time to recover after weigh ins which strongly favors Jordan Oliver

Great match. These 2 guys are the cream of this weight class. Ramos' win over Oliver was an anomoly. Devin Carter was not a "soft" # 1 ranked guy.
