RE: Fadzayev and Sajidov comentaries in Russian press:
Fadzayev is an Ossetian wrestling legend. Ossetia is the true cradle of Russian wrestling champs, Dagestan is second. Remember not just Fadzayev, but the Khadartsev brothers, Elburz Tadayev, Jumblat Tadayev, more recent memory Gatsalov, Taimazov (wrestles for Uzbeks), Tsargush, Gazyumov (wrestles for Azerbaijan) Gogaev etc... Fadzayev's comments, however, are still nothing more than excuses. "Bad coaching, bad or different preparation...blah blah blah..."
Sajidov also reflects negatively upon the draws, and time between matches etc...

Overall, at different times, different teams have benefited/gotten screwed by FILA draws. As fans, we need to ask FILA for a seeding system. We all want to see the best go at it in the finals, like an NCAA basketball tourney arranged based on rankings. Now if a cinderella beats a high seed, God Bless, root for 'em all the way, but please, no free passes. Cinderellas in the NCAA tourney earn their spot in the sweet 16, or Final Four etc...

Also, as Sajidov says, in 96 kg, the #2 wrestler in the world, Gadisov has to wrestle a qualifier, while a no-name/at-large bid bag-o-pus wrestler gets a bye. WTF?? Same in 66kg. world champ gets a "qualifier round," Mr. nobody guy get a bye. Even little league baseball grasps the seeding concept. Come on fellaz!
FILA: GET A CLUE, WE NEED A SEEDING SYSTEM FOR OLYMPIC WRESTLING. YOU ARE KILLING THE SPORT!!

Realist get off Yaz's nuts. Yazdani, Gogshelidze, Gadisov, Varner different day different results. Just dont be so bitter about how it all went down. Its in the books. No doubt you were a bit happer person in 2011. Now let me swing on Jake's. USA!!!

Bro, didn't you read all my props to our boy Varner? no doubt a stud.
Jake's sack is gonna rupture with all the Tarzan swingin' and lickin ur doin'.
Post was RE Yazdani and Gadisov.
Stop being a homer, open ur eyes a little bud. Reality check. That's right, Usain Bolt is also the best sprinter in the world; and Mike Phelps the greatest swimmer...EVER don't matter where they're from. It's reality.
And again, p4p: Burroughs, Yazdani.
p4p in freestyle history: Medved, Yarygin, Gable, Takhti, Smith, Saitiev (Buvaisar), Fadzayev. (no Karelin 'cos its freestyle we talkin' 'bout.
Peace

"Realist this is the USA. Who does it seem like you are rooting for? I am sure you would be a big hit in Iran but here your not. Let this one go and save your mouth for next year."

Nice English diction. Buddy, are you a rooskie hiding behind a US flag? Listen pal, in the good ole' US of A we get to state our opinion. Called a democracy. We don't jail our punk rockers ( Riot ring a bell?) and we are free to debate our opinions.
Varner is a stud, and Burroughs beat the crap out of your hero Tsargush...Twice.
Yazdani is a beast. That's called reality, hence the moniker.
And for the record, I think Jake V. can take Gadisov.
Now a couple of more English grammar classes for you, and you'll be a huge hit in Boratistan/Kazakhstan wrestling forums....Thhhaaat'sss-a-niiiice!

Anonymous Coward 9 months ago

Its not about who would be a hit anywhere or allegiances, yazdani was the best wrestler on the day, varner wrestled an injured gogshelidze and that was it.

Comments RE the Yaz/Gads fight not a negative reflection on our boy Jake V. He kicked ass, fought intelligently, and won his gold fair n square. He is the reigning Olympic Champion, and he will be the man to beat in the upcoming tourneys.
Yazdani the bull is gonna be out of commission for a while. What a shame. It's gonna be the Varner and Gadisov's 96 until the bull is back. Gogschelidze, Tighiev, Balci, Kurbanov are all over the hill. The eye poker Gazyadouche will be sharpening his nails for Jake's left eye, but nothing to fret. Musaev is an up n comer, Andreiitsev aka tub-o-lard is no match for Jake or Abdusalam.
So, go get 'em Jake

everybody get of Yazdani 9 months ago

NUTS!!! no doubt he is a stud and might be "p4p" but you know what he didn't win the Olympics. the GOLD medal will only motivate and inspire varner to train harder and i bet he will beat all top dogs next year.

Yazdani 9 months ago

Yazdani was the real champ, varner's only tough match was gogshelidze who had torn ligaments. Yazdani beat Gadisov, broke him then beat Musaev who came 3rd at russian nationals before and was robbed against gatsalov before, he beat musaev from 2-0 down with a torn meniscus and acl, takes him down twice and gets an exposure on an elite wrestler, who most likely would've beat varner, and did beat the 2011 silver medalist balci.
Yazdani is an absolute savage in my eyes p4p number 2 behind burroughs.

Not an apologist for Varner. Well done, well deserved. Kid has a bright future.

Yazdani vs. Gadisov:
keep seeing posts by guys who apparently didn't watch this match or the others that followed, and are posting based on garbage NBC Sports blurbs. Gadisov came out six guns ablaze went up 3-0, but it took a toll on him. He ran outta gas at the end of the 1st. Yazdani dominated the 2nd period, won 3-0. Gadisov looked like he was gonna die. Gads was sucking wind-big time. 3rd period, again Yazdani did NOT let up, kept bull rushing. Gads kept tugging and holding Yaz's singlet. Yaz got a nice one leg takedown, Gads got a point back, but this was Custer's last stand. I thought Gads was gonna have a heart attack. Yaz kept at him, and got the final point. In deference to other posters NO WAY IN HELL was Gads in this other than the first round. Yaz won readily, had Gadisov on the run from the beginning of the 2nd round until the end. Do yourselves a favor and please watch the match!
Only wrestler of Yaz's stature that Gadisov encountered was Gatsalov in rooskie nationals, which was tied 1-1 after two periods, went to clinch at the end of three, and Gads won the lotto ball. Now the Russian homers will keep ranking Saidov, Akhmedov, Muradov, the corpse of Yeltsin, Brezhnev, grandma's borsht ahead of anyone else in 96kg, including Yaz, Varner, etc... Oh well, your main man Gadisov, with all the publicity, videos, pomp and cirstance got his ass kicked fair and square. Now fellaz, do yourselves a favor and watch Yaz's matches. He is an excellent wrestler, and a great sport. Put politics, idiot mullahs aside. Watch his matches for what they are great wrestling!
Insofar as my other posters commenting on how it is important to be in shape to avoid injuries during Olympics apparently in reference to Yazdani's injury, you must not have watched the matches. Damn.
YAZDANI TORE HIS ACL, AND MENISCUS!!! still tried to wrestle fatass Andreiitsev for a minute with this injury. This is not a conditioning issue, but a matter of chance. I guess you posters would also say a guy like Adrian Peterson is in crap form, and that's why he tore his ACL? B$TCH Please. Next time watch the matches before posting stupid fecal matter based on bubble gum Bob Costas/People magazine style excerpts.
Top p4p wrestlers: Burroughs, Yazdani and that's all folks.
