With this dictatorship nobody improves (including the wrestlers). It's absolutely time to clean shop and get some fresh faces in there - i suggest starting with getting a certain bulgarian that lives in the western states more involved. We are stagnant and stagnant water needs to be be stired up. If this was any other sport these coaches would fired! 3 medals in five years is pathetic ( and two of them came from the same person). Hell Egypt and France are trouncing us

One of the things that is keeping us from placing is folkstyle (high school & college) wrestling. Foreign countries are exposed to freestyle and greco roman from day one. US wrestlers will eventually have to do away with the rules they became accustom to and adapt to the those of greco and freestyle when they choose one to take to the international level. That process alone forces us backwards. Also, wrestling is not our primary sport of choice for youths to participate in. The talent pool is depleted (in America) when competing with sports such as football, baseball and basketball. Arguably, our best athletes play other sports. This is the same reason that the US will never be great in soccer. Look at Europe, THE BEST athletes play soccer- PERIOD! ..it's their national past time. Then there is the argument of money. There's no money to be made in wrestling. That does add to the fact that most wrestlers will be out of the sport upon graduation of college. I love wresting with all my heart, but until we do away with folkstyle, push for a professional league and reinforce it with a semi-professional league - wrestling will always be on the back burner

Pretty disappointing performance by Team USA Greco so far, all we have left for a medal is Lester tomorrow, since we didn't even qualify 96 kilos.

I know these guys train hard and make great sacrifices to get this far, but we have got to be better than this!
Now I am sure someone is going to post that I have no business saying such critical and negative things since I have never trained or competed at this level (it is true that I am nothing compared to these guys). But does this mean that nobody is allowed to point out the glaringly obvious unless they have also been an olympian??
The simple fact is that our performance as a country is totally unacceptable. It is precisely because we work so hard that we should expect more.

Classic. Let's see Al Michaels and Dan Patrick do a recap while wearing a headband and singlet.

Bader is so dorky, he's cool.
