Palacio deserved the win, Realbuto is a monster but on that day Palacio was the better wrestler. He scrambled well, wrestled smart, and took care of business. So just give him the win and shut up. |

i dont understand the point your trying to make but jsut to step on the same mat as realbuto was a pleasure cuz hes a great kid and even better wrestler regardless of who won or lost. If people view me as half the wrestler so be it , stlll not bad in my book |

Brians match at 152, you will see a water bottle come flying onto the mat after the final whistle. Dylan threw it at the officials after the match ended because of another questionable call. He was dq from tourney, and kicked out of building. |

@ Mike James...The rule book can not (and should not) contain all the possible positions in wrestling and their interpretations. As we all know, things get pretty messy out there and in these types of situations, the referee's feel for CONTROL has to be the determining factor. Coaches (fans, parents, and others) like to look for clear indicators like "he has the leg hooked". or "he still has a whizzer" , etc. These things are simply useful elements to consider but can't be the defining criteria to establish control of one wrestler over another. A referee's experience and judgment should be used. I don't think one guy was robbed here because the leg was not hooked and as hinted at below, I do think there was at least a loss of control for 1 pt. |

Close call. I saw in the brackets that Realbuto lost by "DQ" in finals ? Did he get DQ here ? |

Well, one way to look at it is that is Ragh started on top at the whistle and evolved into the position in question, would he still be considered in control? Since the leg was not hooked, should there have been at least a loss of control for Real and go into OT? |

Your looking a bit too deep for pointless reasons. simple solution... Someone find a rule book, find out if the position is considered control or not |

this should be on the "you make the call" except the call is kinda ovbious. i guess it wasnt so obvious for the refree |

If the bottom wrestler actually went into a "merckle" postion that would have been 2. Otherwise i do not see a reversal at the end. In high school you can live and die in close matches by bad calls. Realbuto was on the recieving of a bad call that allowed his win in the semi's. |

This match evened out because the two given to Realbuto when he hooked the leg with the whizzer was not enough for control. The ref looked for a reason to award two instead of looking for CONTROL which is the real criteria. This is the problem when refs "painted by numbers" and don't allow control to be the determining factor. Like when a guy shoots in and gets a leg but the tall lanky opponent can step around an hook a leg and two is given automatically when the now offensive guy has no more and often less control than the guy who took the shot. I think the correct wrestler won here although I would have hit him for fleeing and perhaps a stalling or two. I was wondering why the whistle ref had his bands on the wrong arms but maybe he is old school and refuses to go along with regulations. |
