I love Brands' approach here. He's tough, but you can tell he's good with his team. Tells it like it is, but not harsh or the sake of harsh. Brands, Smith, Sanderson, Koll, and Cody all have that quality about them. Jackson could learn a thing or two here...

I'm not necessarily a hawkeyes fan, but I love everything the Brands brothers say. They have such a pure and straightforward approach to the sport and you can feel their passion.

The question was asking Tom Brands whether he was tempted to let St. Johns wrestle. He said that he and the coaching staff were NOT tempted to use St. Johns in order to win. The risk of further injury was too great, and the coaching staff is keeping thier collective eye on a bigger prize - the National Championship. Tom Brands says there was temptation from St. Johns himself, who was "chomping at the bit." In other words, St. Johns was telling the coaching staff that he wanted to wrestle, he was hungry to wrestle, he could win, but the coaching staff did not want to allow such a risk. Tom Brands is a shining example of what a coach and mentor should be, in any sport.
