Gulibon also hit this same 2 on 1 step over agaist Cruz in last years PA state finals. Cruz has a Pa state title ironman title wins over Mark Grey ect.
grey won the second time

Great match. Both of these kids are quality D1 prospects and should be fun to follow in college.

What's with sick comments? One thing to disagree with points of view, but throw Sanduski into the mix when the focus should be on the wrestling? Sick bastard.

Great match. Both kids will be fun to watch when they hit college.

awesome mat wrestling, but they need to wrestle on their feet with some OH boys to get better in neutral...

CO realist 1 year ago

Really CO Outlaw? Just because Gurule is your kid doesn't mean he is good. He wil never make the line up out there. Little Matty got beat by a juco kid this year. If there was a 112 weight class in college he might win a couple matches because he has better weight-cutting skills than wrestling skills.

CO Outlaw 1 year ago

Clark will also have Gurule as a workout partner, good group in Iowa's room.

great, match guilbon is going to turn into a freak of nature type when he puts work in the penn state room. same with clark working with terry brands, ramos, mcdoungh and thomas gilman, hes going to be a beast. can't wait to see how they do in college!!

Mark Morris 1 year ago

yep, Gulibon better sit out next year because he will get eaten alive by Steiber. Steiber is on a whole different level than Gulibon. Gulibon will most likely sit out or run to a different weight guarenteed he could never beat him. He better enjoy his high school highlights because he won't shine in college.
My guess is that if neither one of these guys did not accomplish anything else in HS they would have accomplish more than Wow or anonymous coward. I would base this guess on the fact that people who have been successful do not make stupid comments.
Clark is very good and unless something like injury or something unforeseen happen he will be very successful at the college level. Even though I am not an Iowa fan I would have to believe Brands and his coaching staff know how to evaluate talent and they recruited him.
Gulibon went up a weight last year and wrestles Megaludis toe to toe. Megaludis was a NCAA finalist and Gulibon is going to the same program that developed Megaludis into a National Finalist in his freshman year. If you would have put Gulibon in the Penn State room all year he would be competing with any D1 wrestler by the end of the year just like Megaludis did.

if your good you don't get hit in that move
I think Clark is pretty darn good

yup 1 year ago

to anonymous coward: yeah of course thats why steibers in college and gulibons in high school. i would hope an ncaa national champ could beat a high schooler. thanks for stating the obvious

Awesome match

Wow. Clark gets hit with the 2 on 1 step over tilt? I tell some a few of my 5th graders to stop hitting novice moves when they hit that. I guess I can't call it a novice move anymore.

People make too much fuss 1 year ago

about who wins this match. They are both studs in HS. If you're a 4x state champ,
you are one of the top dogs. It's impossible to tell what they will do in College. These events are a showcase for talent. We should celebrate all of the kids involved.
There ave been some funky outcomes in these types of Duals.

Clark looks like a boy. He has so much room to grow. He will not be the same wrestler in 18 months. Guillbion is tough but seriously people on fing ed on this site. They act like they have never watched high schoolers progress into college.

Lewis Weakland 1 year ago

Gulibon always fun to watch, - has good repertoire of moves, sets them up well, and has impressive quickness. In his interviews, he seems like a great kid. The thing that impressed me about this match, however, was that he wrestled really tough and kept bringing it rather than play safe at the end.

Good Match 1 year ago

Good match. Gulibon is tough, great on his feet. That will be Clark's downfall in college, good scrambler, good defense, but he has no shot, & doesn't ride well. I guess he can be turned also.
