How can any wrestler not have respect for the greatest wrestler in US history.

I've never heard Tom Brands say anything but complimentary remarks about John Smith. It's like he wants to beat him so bad and never let Okie State score a point against him, but still has a great respect for Smith.

Disagree that they all have the same style, and the one who sticks out most in my mind is Joe Williams. He didn't not have that push, push, push type style. He didn't move a whole lot either. He would tie you up, and as soon as your feet stopped moving...BAM!!....he'd hit that double leg. He would slow guys down to his pace, and attack.

Worked out well for Perry. He won two titles under brands. Compare the way Metcalf wrestles to the way Mcdonough wrestles. They both have non-stop action but their technique is not the same at all. Throw in St. John and there is a completely different set of techniques. Same goes with Jay Borschel. Actually, look back through the 80's and 90's Davis, Lewis, Chipparelli, McLlravy, and Ironside all had very different technique.

It seems to me that the similarity all those guys on IOWA have is wrestling at a high pace, all the way through a match from where ever they are, that to me isn't a style that is a way to wrestle a style. I think he defines what is required i.e..."wrestling hard in all positions and be all about scoring..." a style is a leg guy or Perry had some of what I think as somewhat a scrambler (but he was very much a goer) or whatever...I guess it depends on what you call style. Regardless this guy is great, no matter whether I agree with him or not! Thanks for the post.

I disagree. They have the same wrestling style. The last unique wrestler they had was Mark Perry.
