I just went online and watched The Smashing Machine doentary that Jon jus mentioned. Awesome work. Sonny was a great person for us wrestlers back on LI in the 70's..great guy.

He raised a good and talented kid

thanks, Cliff. spent an hour or more picking Jon's brain about the film. Looking back I should have just had the camera rolling the entire time.

found this in a revwrestling article:
Jim Pearson(former training partner) shares a specific example of how even someone as experienced and talented as Dave Schultz was always willing to learn: "During one practice, I shot in on him and got in on his leg. He asked, 'How did you do that?' I replied that it felt funny for him to ask. He said, 'How do you think I got to be as good as I am? I got this way because I don't resist the flow of information. In this case, I don't know something you know.'
I cannot wait to see this finished project.

I wanna see this, I remember this when I was younger and would love to see this, keep us posted guys, this was a tragic time, very tough to put into words
