Look, I am all the way in Alabama and have heard of this guy. You have weirdos like that at every match though. Maybe not to that extent, but they are everywhere. And yes, Ficker was acting pretty ed at the NCAA's. This guy probably needs to get a life. That is all.

Nicely said tMb., I think it is great for the sport. Not to mention he is a great supporter and fan of wrestling. If he were rooting for your team you would probably enjoy it! Can't wait to attend another Maryland match. Would love to see what he comes up with next....

The heckler was not sitting on the bench. Maryland set up an extra row of matside seats for the fans at the event. The bench is on the other side of the mat. Robin Ficker brings a lot of attention and enthusiasm to the team, helping to get the fans and athletes more excited about wrestling. He never attacks the other team with vicious or rude remarks, if you were to actually pay attentino to what he says. I think it's great to bring such positive attention to the sport and increase the wrestling fan base, which is lacking in most markets. He may seem annoying to opposing teams and fans, but that is just a result of opponent bias. If you had him rooting for your team, your opinion may be different.

UMD should be embarrassed to allow that douchebag heckler sit on the bench during any competition. I have always thought the utmost of Kerry McCoy and his staff. Clearly you guys know better than to allow that type of behavior on your bench. I believe in an atmosphere of sportsmanship and professionalism in the college wrestling world. If you're uncertain who I am talking about look for the old idiot sitting on the far end of the bench in the bright lime green shirt and spounge bob shorts. Let him sit in the bleachers!!! Or better yet tell him to get lost. I've had the opportunity to watch this guy in action over the last couple of years and have never understood allowing such a classless act to be attached to a great program.
