Another great example why freeestyle wrestling sucks today. More specifically the rules suck. Teyon backed up for 2 minutes of the first period and never initiated anything. Metcalf stalked him but couldn't get to his legs. In the olden days (late 70's and 80's) Teyon would be warned for passivity!! Then he wins ball grab and wins peioid. What a joke. ball grab?? why not just flip a coin. No, someone invented the ball grab to make it seem more sophisticated. So basically guys win matches because of a coin toss. I would guess that about 90% of the guys who win "ball grab" end up winning the period. Come on FLO lets get after this ridiculous rule!!!

If Metcalf was better he wouldn't have lost 3 times now to Ware. (He lost to him at the U. S. Open.) So either Metcalf just isn't better than Ware or he needs to learn to take this guy more seriously.

I know people are going to say where do you draw the line, but Ware's celebration was not disrespectful to me. The match was over, he did a flip and a run around the mat. Once he got the initial excitement out, he did not taunt. He shook Brent's hand and Duroe's hand and walked off.

freestyle rules are , we all know that
on the other hand, metcalf wrestling with a broken rib in 2 matches takes guts. glad to see one of usa's older guys who have been here forever get another chance at hardware.

Hmmm... don't think I can agree w/Lancer. The pushout rule forces the wrestlers to stay in the center and not run off the mat to avoid being scored on, and the shorter periods push the action fairly well. I must admit though that I like the previous, one, five minute period format a little more, since conditioning plays a bigger part. I'm with you though on the ball grab situation and would put the guys in parterre instead, when there's a tie. Btw, I wish we had online gambling on this site, since would happily take all the $$ from the Teyon fans. He will get tooled at the World Championships...not even a fighting chance for a medal.

Freestyle wrestling has become ridiculous. No scoring, boring a complete waste of time. It has been reduced to defensive minded hand fighting with a complete reliance on a "lucky" ball grab.

These freestyl rules are stupid.... and they dont even realize how ed it is because they are so deep in always changing the rules for something stupid. Wheres the old school clinch???? bring that back.

He's not showboating. I am a showboater. You probably know who I am. After my first state title, I pulled off my singlet and stuck one thumb in my mouth and the other up my a.s.s.h.o.l.e and began jumping around like a b.i.t.c.h in heat.

If a guy didn't win then he did not perform "great". Good match all around by both guys, but not great from metcalf. If he wrestled gret he would have won.

Metcalf did great. he took ware to 3 matches after having competed all day long.
I do not like ware's style. he will get killed by the russians.

THERE HAS TO BE A BETTER VENUE TO HOST THIS TOURNAMENT. THE CROWD COULD HAVE BEEN FOR A BADMIINTON TOURNAMENT! PATHENTIC.

metcalf seemed hurt after after the ball grab. He was massaging his ribs from then on. Maybe he fractured a rib during the ball grab

Vinnie way to suck the fun out of wrestling, guys shaking hands and being "classy" is what everyone wants too see. Emotion and being pumped after winning a match/game is what makes winning and sports great.

Teyon if you read this next time just please shake Brent's hand and then walk off like a class act, and if you happen to win a world title for our nation please dont celebrate till no one can see you. thanks ^_^
