Oklahoma State wrestling coach John Smith talks with the team after practice at the end of the pre season and gives an awesome speech to the team. Going over a lot of things John Smith urges them to jump levels and talks about guys who have in the past like Zach Esposito, Chris Pendleton and Tyron Lewis. John Smith is the head coach at Oklahoma State and wrestled there himself.

I have known Smith since the seventh grade and I can tell you that he just about always thought this way. That is what made him great and allowed him to accomplish everything that he has. I wish I had had this kind of dedication he is talking about. Smith's phenomenal career was a confluence of God given talent, family tradition, great coaching (a lot from his older brother) and most of all TREMENDOUS dedication, focus, work ethic and vision. If yopu watch the vid on "Maintain the Hunger" he admits that he was no more gifted than many- that he just worked very hard to maximize the things he did well. I am 43 years old now and still find this man and this message very inspiring. |
