The call was wrong... according to the rule book if a wrestler is getting put to his back call injury time, then points should be awarded. Flo should start a refs corner section.

im kinda new to wrestling but didnt sal shoot him out of bounds like three times shouldnt there be stalling points?

gaccione 4-3 in rematch. The no back point call was correct and the reversal had not even occured when Gaccione called time, so if anybody had a gripe it was the HP camp. He called time and then gave up on his hold and mastriani continued to wrestle after the whistle. I believe that Gaccione was cramped as he held that same position for about 30 seconds. The ref probably gave the reversal in response to the crowd booing. Mastriani stall was correct as he was hanging back, and Gaccione should have been dinged for a point because he was backing up non-stop the last 34 seconds. Both sides have a gripe, but not about what you guys are discussing.

Think you guys are going a little overboard. I want Mastriani to win the rematch and take 3rd for sure, but I really don't see the robbery here. The kid called injury time (certainly may have been bogus) BEFORE he went to his back. In which case, the ref was completely right to only award the reversal. He then also gave Sal a makeup call with the quick 2 on the edge without giving Gaccione reaction time. This match was reffed fine.

Ref 305 not only blew this match but did a horrible job all day. Every match he was primary in he made a bad call . He killed Dontay Scott of paulsboro with a stall while moving forward and nothing for the kid who fled the mat. Later in 112 he failed to give VanBrille the 2 back points he deserved. It is ashame that one guy could cause such damage ALL day. I don't know what region sent him but you can have him back! Don't you guys have some tot matches to keep him occupied?

Also i must say that Hardy decided not to wrestle this year and he was on the winter track team until mid december. 39-1 3rd in nj as a hobby

Can you please video Kalyph Hardy (central regional) 160lb 3rd place match guys? Not bad for a kid that only wrestles 3 1/2 months a year fellas. The last kid with god gifted talent like this was Rob jackson from Jackson. 3rd in the state and 2,000 yards with the pigskin & great at track is pretty special. let the people see

This is ridiculous! This ref should not be doing the quarterfinals of the State Tournament. He shouldn't even be reffing high school wrestling. Mastriani controlled the entire match, yet he got hit with stalling before Gaccione who was backing up the entire first period. And the Reversal with no back-points... Im not even going to get started. This ref took the chance of a State Championship away from Mastriani just so he could be the star and that is horrendous.

When I was wrestling the rule was if you were going to your back and you asked for injury or screamed and it was a legal hold, then 2 should have been given for the reversal, 3 near fall, and another point for the injury. We called it the scream rule... Not sure if that rule still exist or if it applies here?

Should have been 2 reversal and 2 near fall. Rule says if points are imminent you have to award them.

I always enjoyed Gaccione's style. He was always pretty agressvie looking for throws and big moves. I don't think this match is really indicative of Gaccione's style

I really hate Gaccione's style.

I just hate guys who spend the whole match backing up. He is backing up when he shoots.

I think the refs should have awarded at least 2 backers. I know in Michigan there is some type of automatic points awarded in that situation.

I know some people fake an injury to get time but it really looked like he was cramping up.. But it was a tough call, no doubt about that.
