I remember watching him win his 1st and only NJ state championship. I didn't think the kid looked that great back then, now....Holy ish. JB is the truth. I was always hoping for a JB vs D.Caldwell match, but he put on more weight than DC. Not sure who would have pulled that match off. Any guess??

Glad to hear he is gonna try to bring an olympic gold, but I think he could be the next Jon Jones, Phil Davis in MMA.

seems like genuinely nice kid. Hope he has what it takes to win some hardware for the U.S. we need guys like Jordan to step up internationally and get it done for the U.S. Guys that get the job done in other countries are set for life. It gives them extra incentive I wish that it was the same here in the U.S. I think that we would have lots more success.

Even going back to the 2009 championships I thought Burroughs has the profile of an excellent international wrestler. I just wonder if he (and Caldwell assuming the shoulder holds up) are better suited for 2016 than 2012. If they were able to use their redshirt years to prepare for Intl wrestling, I would feel differently, but unfortunately they had to use those years to rehab injuries.

Burroughs speed and power is gonna turn some heads internationally in a couple years!

the future 2 years ago

excited to see him and other young guys like darrion, metcalf, and oliver do damage internationally in the near future

IndyRR 2 years ago

You saw what kind of damage Obe Blanc did with his double leg at Worlds, and Burroughs' shot is even better. He'll struggle a little at first like they all do, but if he says healthy and motivated, I'd say the sky's the limit for him in freestyle.

STUD 2 years ago

He would be an amazing freestyle wrestler. most of his game is on his feet. he is so explosive with his shots. just a little freestyle work and this kid is definitely bringing some hardware back to the US

callin out winston on the injury time i like that.

Anonymous Coward 2 years ago

caldwell needs to address that shoulder first. those are hard injuries to come back from, especially for wrestlers due to all the torque and stress our shoulders take.

Anonymous Coward 2 years ago

i hope he makes a few runs at olympics, to many guy are one and done. We need a stronger usa team with guys that wanna do 2-3 tours. A healthy Darrion caldwell would be our best bet at 145.5, not metcalf, burroughs 163 the kid is a serious talent.

GO BIG RED....love it!

lol. someone on another forum said they don't like the style in which Burroughs wrestles. How can you not like a style that completely dominates his opponents?

Anonymous Coward 2 years ago

I think he has the athleticism, determination and ability to transfer his skills over to freestyle pretty successfuly. hopefully he can bring home the gold.

go get some Hardwear for the usa on the olympic team!
