Yeah, Molinaro's and Taylor's losses definitely put a damper on the celebration. Especially because wrestling isn't even a team sport: it's all out the individual, and individual champs. So Penn State wins the "team" title...big deal. Just means they had more guys scoring points. the real winner this year is Arizona: two dominant performances in finals: Bubba destroyed Taylor, and Robles crushed McD.

When Cael gets the chance to sit down and look forward to the upcoming season of PSU wrestling and realizes that he has everyone of his wrestlers back next season except Patacky, whom by the way is being replaced by the #1 recruit in the country at that weight, I'm sure it wil be easy to get over the Taylor loss. In fact he may be over it already. Taylor on the other hand wiil stew over that loss this whole off season, and I would not want to be the one he takes it out on next season.And did I mention that the only weak spots in PSU's lineup( 165,197) are also being filled with star recruits (McIntosh ,Cowburn, D. Alton). Good luck getting over that Taylor loss Cael.

I'm suprised that people were surprised of the outcome. Bubba has beaten Burroughs, Caldwell, and countless others. The only notable that he wasnt able to beat was Metcalf. This was no doubt an easy win.

This kid kicked the shit out of his bother and raped his protege daily in practice. He sent him packing to a supposed inferior school. I'm sure it is more to the story, but this is an anticlimatic ending and wrestling needs this dramatic ending. It's similar to the Cadwell/Metcalf rivialry. Jenkins vs. Sanderson/Taylor will go down as one of the best rivialries in the sport. Cael will probably have nightmares about this ending. The ending is bringing him close to tears. He held back for the cameras but I bet he sobbed like a beloved widow.

Mind you Jenkins was flat on his back during a scramble with Welch in the semis. The ref was so busy looking to see who was in "control" that he forget to see a pin in front of his eyes. Welch IMHO should have gotten 2 and 2, though the refs thought otherwise. So it goes.

You can tell Cael and Taylor have a special bond the way Cael is getting so chocked up about Taylor losing, hes trying to hard not cry it seems, he couldnt even say the match he knew he was talking about he was so upset.

Maybe we should leave the Taylor not winning a title talk until senior year. OH NO A FRESHMAN COULDN'T WIN THE NATIONAL FINALS AS A FRESHMAN HE'LL NEVER DO IT!

I really wish ESPN covered some of these stories more. Cael/Bubba, David Taylor (heck that whole freshman class), Andrew Long (why was he able to wrestle anyway? was he given the conditional release to go somewhere else?)

Sanderson is the best of the best. Combines superior wrestling knowledge/coaching with a God based attitude.
"God doesn't always reward people with wins." That is so true and sometimes christian wrestlers forget that and may lose their way.
Many more titles to come for PSU and Sanderson.

I liked the interview. He sounds like a good guy a good coach and role model. Sooner or later everyone loses, and Taylor will grow from the experience if he is half what everyone puts on him. As for the Bubba and PSU and ISU and Cael, in business sooner or later somebody is going to not like something, and you got to move on. Congrats to Bubba, for winning it when not many gave you a chance, congrats to Taylor and thanks for some great wrestling this year, thanks to Cael for bringing a title to the East and I think ISU is a great opportunity for Kevin Jackson, he is a great guy and I'm looking forward to ISU building next year year. Can't wait to see how next season turns out.

Bubba has a chip on his shoulder that the world is against him. Bubba needs a situation that causes him to rise up and perform. Bubba should thank Cael for the fire that Cael caused to burn as hot as hell in Bubba's soul. Without Cael, Bubba would not have won the title. Bubba only brings his full talent after he is told that he is not good enough. Bubba needs someone or something to blame for his circumstances.Bubba got his title and Cael got his title. Cael got the job done without Bubba. Bubba sure was lucky that he had the opportunity to train with Askren.

If Taylor doesn't win a title, he should can change his name to Mike Brown.

Molinaro had no confidence to go neutral. His only hope was to turn Dake and he couldn't. Molinaro will have to work even more variety of offense from neutral. Amazingly, 1 month ago Dake was out of shape and fighting for wins against mid level opponents. No doubt Cael was pissed that Molinaro wasn't taking instruction.

As for Bubba, you can see the absolute pain in his face that Jenkins won.

Taylor will have his work cut out for him at 165. A complete different type of wrestler with more power than at 149 and 157. Howe, Caldwell, Asper are all back. Even Winston WR.com #6 through #28 Bubby Graham have enough power to turn anyone. I would think Taylor starts ranked #5 at 165 next year and has to prove he can beat the horses already there.

I think Taylor's potential undefeated run being ended today may have actually outweighed the Championship win in Cael's mind. Very very bittersweet, I mean this in a positive way, DT was Cael's #1 wrestler, undeniable their obvious bond and I think he wanted it nearly as bad as Taylor did, and seeing that end must have been pretty devastating.
