Ed Ruth tellin it like it is. You don't hear him making excuses about losing to Amu. He's just being honest when he said he only had half of his moves.

That is the scariest part. He only had half of his moves, and he was still able to beat Manuel, Pin Bennett in 30 seconds, beat Heinrich, beat Lewnes.
He really is that good. Easily the most talented kid in the NCAAs, right on par with David Taylor. The difference is Taylor's high pace compared to Ruth's laid back style.

i heard ruth is a hard worker and a pretty chill kid from a couple of my current teammates that went to blair in high school.

ruth doesnt deserve to be treated badly by cael... who cares if cael was a 4 x whatever champ or olympic gold whatever or world final blah blah.........suck it cael!! suck it!!

Ed wrestled hard and did a great job. He's only a freshman. He'll learn and only get better from here on out. And anyone talking s#it about his nostrils needs to have their a#s whooped. What person who is not racist says sh#t like that? Seriously.

Ed, I just want to say congrats!!! I know it is not what you wanted, however you showed yourself to be a warrior to come back and wrestle and WIN despite your injury.

first if all, all the negative comments about Ed Ruth , his coaches , and the situation, are ridiculous. Ed Ruth is probably one of the most good looking , clean, wrestlers right now so the fact that you think his nostrils are big maybe you should put a picture of your face, it better look good. And the person that just said he quit, can seriously go kill yourself. He got injured and came back winning one of the only two awards given for the wole tournament, got two pins, and placed 3rd and still is an All-American, as a FRESHMAN! So while you all are sitting here hating ,all five years of his college career are completely paid for!

thats why he never gets tired. he catches lot of air lol.
anyways, I can't believe he came back for 3rd place. what a MAN. I really hope he wins 3 titles.

Asleep at the wheel, or steering the team bus to an incredible accomplishment? Defeating a loaded Cornell and game Iowa is epic, and the fewer whiners like Crybaby Street Black bitching on the fringe, the better. Ruth will learn and be better for it. PS -- Amuch's bent-leg turk was perfectly legal -- and, oh yeah, the same move Taylor used to turn Fittery...

Thank God Ed Ruth doesn't have the same excuse-laden attitude as you. It was definitely a questionable position that he was put in but it happens pretty frequently in college wrestling so it's the referee's, not the coach's responsibility to stop it if it becomes illegal. Ruth loves the Penn St program and speaks very positively about Cael. I'm not sure what your beef is, but I expect him to come back next year stronger than he ever was because of the team and coaching staff that's around him. Wrestling is an individual sport, so Ruth's success so far can be 100% attributed to him, however it's ridiculous to blame Cael for a lack of success right now without any basis.

about the move he was put in...college wrestlers use it all the time...he put himself in position to get rode like that, pay the price and learn for next time. Why you dogging on his coaches, you weren't there and don't know what is going on behind the scenes or even what happened when they left the match.

bubba was about bubba and didnt show the respect to be treated with respect. but i agree, the ref shouldve called illegal hold or at least a potentially dangerous

Congrats on a great year. Let's be real Ruth, Cael is asleep at the wheel. He let Mooch put an illegal hold on you, and never protested it for one second. But you didn't complain, and Cael acted like some slack-jawed yokel.

Then he had the nerve to yell at you, as you laid on the mat writhing in pain. But the worse part was how he turned his back on you, and didn't even help you off the mat. In fact, I'm not sure if any PSU person helped you off the mat.

He treated Bubba and Bobby like trash, and guess who's next.
