Wouldn't the existence of more NAIA, NCAA and NJCAA teams in Texas alleviate travel budget tensions and also make it easier to keep justifying having the program even during tough economic times, in order to be able to keep up with peers? Rivalries fuel support on all sides. And they define one. Who would General Patton have been without Rommel, for example? Such rivalries inspire more Texans to want to take wrestling more seriously, enabling Wayland to become more competitive nationally, right?
