Description

Virginia Tech surprised a lot of people in the country when they had upset wins over Oklahoma State and Wisconsin to take second at national duals and they have now jumped to third in the rankings. Rutgers has had a solid performance this season and have been climbing the rankings all year long where they are now as high as eighth. The two teams will meet on the campus of Rutgers to settle things on the mat.

MEAN GENE. Proof anyone can pick up a camera and make great coverages. Gene is just a HUGE wrestling fan and covers all kinds of stuff. Thanks GEEEENO!

Stephens pushed the action for most of the match. Mason should have been hit for stalling more than once.

Maybe this is why:
125: Langel still has 2 more years left, after this year.
133:Dellafave is the future at this weight and still has 3 or 4 more years left.
141:not young there but have Ashanult coming back next year along with Melde
149: Mason 2 more years left, also throw in Jordan Beverly who is only a freshmen
157:Visicaro with 3 more years left w/a redshirt - Just beat Resnick of Rider After Cocozzo Graduates
165:Winston with 2 more years left
174:They have Ard(only a RSFR) to replace Caruso, if he starts to wrestle better.
184: Rinaldi still 2 more years left
197: Wagner True freshmen
HVY: Russo - done after this year - But have Billy Smith who looks to be promising in college.

Certainly not what you would call an "old" team, that is for sure. Only losing Caruso, who they only had for 1 year (transfer), Russo, and Cocozzo, with everyone else returning and having some young guns to step in and replace them.

WHAT?! 1 year ago

Why do people say that Rutgers is 'young?'

125: Langel-3rd year
133: DeMarco-4th year
141: Melde-3rd year
149: Mason-3rd year
157: Cocozzo-5th year
165: Winston-3rd year
174: Caruso-5th year
184: Rinaldi-3rd year
197: Wagner-FRESHMAN
285: Russo-5th year
A team with first and second year wrestlers is a young team. this team is not what you would call a young team.

Rutgers smashed them 24-7. They are a very good and YOUNG team.

Rutgers dominated them 24-7. Goodale has them peaking at the right time. And they are young
