Dustins like "Im gonna this kid up"

brown isn't as good of a wrestler as kilgore so he tried to turn it into a fight. I don't mind being physical but gouging the eyes as you are taken down by a good shot looks cheap to me.

ref did no handle this well and both brown and kilgore did enough to get tossed ... HOWEVER i think the kent state coaches should also review their participation in the build up during the match ...
they made several comments in the beginning of the match when nothing was really going on ... then they basicly told both wrestlers many times that the ref wasn't in control ...
i believe ksu coaches had plenty of opportunities early on to call the ref over and talk to them ... once you decide to start your conversation to the ref by calling him out in front of the arena instead of one to one then things are only going to get worse
fyi: cleveland born and raised and wrestled ... think andrassy is an excellent coach and does ksu proud ... but everyone could have done better in this one

Bottom line, while Brown did start it, both guys were way out of line and the ref should have stepped in and put a stop to it.

Wow! Intense match! Kilgore beat the crap out of Brown. Too bad Brown is an eye-gauging sissy

justwrestle 2 years ago

logan brown should be greatful that kilgore didnt beat him worse..

i guess its how that saying goes if you not cheating your not trying..
good job dustin to hold your own and keep your cool you should have knocked him out after the first time he poked you. everyone knows that logan is cheap like that...

My son wrestled 4 years of high school and 5 years of college until January of his senior year WITHOUT ever have an injury time out or blood timeout - until he wrestled Brown who hit him in the eye (he was penalized) and across the nose. He had a black eye and swollen cheek - looked like a car wreck. It didn't "help" that he had beat Brown the previous match by MD. When Brown goes against guys who can match him physically he gets out of control and although the ref tried to manage- as he did in the Kilgore match - they always stop short. The tough physical style is not the problem - it is the hand and fingers in the eyes - and doing it repeatedly. Brown's coaches need to straighten him out or he will have no chance to AA.

I don't see how FLO should be at fault, as they are only catering to their audience, who, for the most part wanted to see this match. IMO

What's up with the slamming of Andrassy? He was trying to get the ref to control the match, nothing more nothing less.

joke of a match 2 years ago

flo should be embarrassed hyping this match and calling it a war

thats to end the period they do it all the time in pennsilvania idk other states

lol 2 years ago

Brown was eye gouging the whole time. Trying to make up for the fact he doesn't have any offense i guess.

lets not just say that this stuff happens in wrestling...it happens everywhere garret lebount from oregon knocked some dude out on national television with a two team brawl going on...lets not say this isolated cause it happens in sports.

What the heck are they on, a kids mat?

kevin 2 years ago

I wouldve given Brown a warning in the first period for eye gouging and a point for Kilgore pushing him. That was unnecessary.

2nd period definitely points for eye gouging and that as the final warning
Kilgore definitely shoulda been tossed though when he kneed Brown. I dont think the ref even saw it though. This is the type of match you DONT want kids watching.

Both were cheap but I wrestled Brown in High School at state and he was the same way then. If I knew how to post a picture on here I'd show you my face after the match. He gouges and knows how to use that headgear very well.

anyone see the towl thrown at kilgore at the end

Smallest mat ever???

At least the Kent state coaches were trying to control their wrestler. Can't say the same for the Purdue coaches. It seems they didn't really say anything to Brown, regarding his tactics. Makes me think it is part of the culture of Purdue wrestling to be over aggressive.

That's the kind of program Purdue is running? That's a disgrace to the sport, and Kilgore WRECKED him anyways. Good Job Dustin

Wow! I'm glad I watched this. I was bored over my lunch break and decided to click on this match. All dirtiness aside, it was entertaining to watch.

I see this stuff and I know that this weekend some moronic youth coach or father is going to have his kids gouging the eyes or throwing wild cross faces.
And we wonder why the number of teams is decreasing. What do the Purdue or Kent State Athletic Directors think here? Are the coaches and athletes representing the school hte way that they want to be represented?
The ref is at fault for letting it go that far but really this is a sad reflection for everyone.
