I picked Dake for 5th. He proved me wrong. Decisively! He looked amazing. Watching Dake this year I did not think he was ready for the move up in weight class, or that he was not as motivated as last year. Dake is the man. When he lost to LeValley, I figured LeValley could take it all. LeValley really is good. He had such a close match with Chamberlain and I was suprised he lost. Credit goes to Chamberlain in that match, he never stopped and kept coming. On the other hand, I wished Sanjaa would have taken my advice and not chosen down versus Dake. With the score 1-0 Dake, I think Sanjaa may have scored a takedown. I am dissapointed Cody told a kid who grew up doing freestyle and got tilted at will by LeValley, to chose down against a known tough top rider like Dake. |

I was sad to see Caldwell injury default. But the signs were there during the season that there were lingering problems. My man Sanjaa did well, but I wish Cody would have listened to my earlier post when I said Sanjaa must not take down versus Dake. I believe had he chosen nuetral for the third period, when the score was 1-0 Dake---Sanjaa could have gotten a takedown. Dake would have escaped and the match would have been won in overtime with another Sanjaa takedown. My fav pick, LeValley lost a hearbreaker to Chamberlain, when he got away fairley quickly in rideout , he did not keep wrestling and Chamberlain did---Kudos to Chamberlain --he deserved the win. I choose Frank for the title. |

Caldwell doesn't have that explosively entertaining style when he dominated everyone from january until March. Him two years ago could major this entire bracket except maybe mollinaro. I don't know if he's preserving his shoulder or just doing what he has to do to get the win or just not that same guy. He's the type of guy that thrives when the odds are against him. This time they're not. |

wow, DC gonna have his hands full before he reaches the semis let alone the finals. 4 weirdest stylis in this bracket lined up on Darrion Caldwells way. Ivan L. will tire him out, thats a bad 1st round right there. Grajales is bringing it and may do some damage too. Sanja is a weird dude. you never know what this guy is gonna do untill he does it. and Kyle Dake is Kyle Dake. we know what hes capable of and if DC passes him I think he takes the title. |

A healthy and in-shape Caldwell would dominate 149 for sure. However, at the conference championships, his conditioning didn't look so great. And 2 weeks just isn't enough time to improve on that much. Thus we can count on a relatively out-of-shape Caldwell. So we know he's gonna be pretty tired by the time he reaches the semis, where he'll likely see Dake. Thus I think Dake has good shot at winning. |

I didn't see Caldwell turn up the heat in his conference match and he did look out of shape, but it doesn't mean he can't turn up the heat. I see him as having incredible physical skills that you don't always see come out until he is challenged. LeValley looked like he had the will to win against Dake, but as a Dake fan, I think Dake could make a come-back. He fights and until he wrestled LeValley I hadn't seen him get out fought. A fully ready Caldwell will run the bracket, but he even if he has more than he is showing I dont think he has all he had before his injuries mounted up. Frank M. doesn't look like the guy to top them all. I also think Jamal Parks, on his game right now, is a wrestler who can make some noise this year. |

IM CALLING IT NOW REMEMBER THIS POST>>>>> mario mason will wrestle in NCAA finals vs caldwell. now he had a good draw and ill say why. first he has VA tech kid who he easily beat already, then probably santos who he got caught by but was killing him. then hes gonna beat molinaro again just looking at there past matches, and then he beat LeValley again and goes onto NCAA FINALS. not gonna say he will beat caldwell but it should be interesting |

I place Caldwell low because I do not think he is the same Caldwell who beat Metcalf in the NCAA finals. I believe he is more like the Caldwell who got majored by Metcalf in the all star meet. Caldwell has not wreslted many matches this year. He has not faced really strong competion. Is he healthy? Is he in wrestling shape? Is he in tournament shape? I believe he is a great athlete and wrestler, but I do not think he is ready for a 3 day tournament grind against top competition. If Sanjaa beats him, I think he's done. In fact, do not be shocked if Lopouchanski, who has a odd, difficult style, or Grajales gets the job done before Sanjaa! |

What's up with the crazy seeds? Ok, Caldwell deserves the #1 seed, but why the heck is Dake #4? Dake beat Molinaro in a head to head match. Dake is a returning NCAA champion. Dake majored Mason, and Mason beat Molinaro. Looks like someone on the seeding committee wants Penn State to win, because the team race is going to come down to this one. If Molinaro gets into the finals and Dake does not, Penn State wins. Somehow, however, I doubt Molinaro will make it to the finals. I see LeValley taking him out. And it's possible for Dake to beat Caldwell: he's got to keep it close the first two periods and avoid that funk stuff (Dake's funk stuff will get him pinned against someone like Caldwell). Dake has to keep it close and then pour it on in the third period. Caldwell will not be in good enough shape to handle a 3rd period onslaught. His conditioning was terrible at the conference tournament, and there is physically no way he can improve upon that much by NCAA tournament -- it's simply too late. So if Dake wrestles strategically, he can win. |

no one is saying valenti isn't a good wrestler but he's not AA status and caldwell barley beats him? valenti isn't dake, levalley,or molinaro good. haha and yeah he may have escaped but he wouldve not taken valenti down out of sheer anger he wouldve backed up and ran and huffed and puffed with his baby lungs |
