Carl, what does being a transfer have to do with anything? He was the outstanding wrestler.

If it *was* voted that way, its a prime example why they are all second tier schools.
Allegiance has a LOT to do with being a great wrestler... and if they truly are stupid enough to vote that way - Nobody in the tournament spent as long with their team as McCauley (6 years, doosh bag) so he'd even get that award... You must be one of the idiots who voted for Short (who just got beat by Kingsley today, by the way..)
MN is a complete joke in their voting anyway.. The MR MINNESOTA is 9 times out of 10 from a AA or A school, even though they rarely accomplish anything outside of HS...
MN Christmas Tournament is getting weaker each year and their OW award is a bigger joke than Mr. MN.

The head coaches from each team vote on the outstanding wrestler so the U has nothing to do with it. Perhaps because Destin is an out of state tranfser is the reason. Looks to me like the coaches are sending a message. Allegience to ones program seems to be important to them. Who would have thought.

That is a joke. It isn't "who's bracket is tougher?". Its "who's the outstanding wrestler?"

Short is tough, he beat a solid wrestler in the finals, but to not give McCauley the OW is a joke and reflects poorly on the U.
McCauley pinned his way through the event. Short didn't. McCauley won 4 Christmas tournament titles. Short didn't.
I would love to hear their OW "selection committee" attempt to explain their choice logically... lol.

Seeing that they gave Short the OW is it fair to say the Gophers (who run the event..) will not give an OW to the No. 1 wrestler in the nation who pinned his way through it, just because he didnt sign there?

Their OW award is seriously a joke.. has been for years.
