Is this tournament for rep schools only or publics as well?

Not to mention the tournament continues to bring in teams from around the country that are supposed to walk away with the tournament. Last year, Kiski was supposed to run away with the tournament. This year, Calvary Chapel and Bergen Catholic were supposed to be too physical and run away with the tournament. The teams from TN do not usually travel to very many national tournaments. Some of the Baylor wrestlers went 7-0 at the Clash. Every year we have the debate about kids that are 6-6 in CA, NJ, PA, etc. being better that an kid from TN, GA, or FL that is 34 - 0. The parity in HS wrestling is finally starting to be like college football. We have great wrestlers from every state and just because you play football at "Michigan" doesn't mean you are guaranteed to win. The Prep Slam is inviting the best teams from around the country to try and knock off Baylor. Hopefully, the coaches and parents from the "big wrestling states" can comment about the consistently tough wrestling that occurs at our tournament. 11 States and counting puts this tournament up there with any tournament in the country.

this tournament had some very impressive individuals competing, but i really don't think it deserves to be a major just yet. I'm sure that there are a few tougher tournaments that could be found elsewhere in the south, let alone in the nation. When to TN private schools are running away with the team score, I'm really not sure what to think. Hopefully in the next few years as this tournament grows and develops I'll be proved wrong, but for now I don't think it deserves the attention that flo is giving it

You would be hard pressed to find a tournament in the South that compares to this especially a Prep School only tournament.

I think you should see how the qualifiers from this event do at Flo Nationals before making a statement like that. Those Tennessee teams that you are referring to are pretty tough. They have wrestlers that stay in good position while wrestling aggressively and hardy ever make mistakes. I think it is about time for us all to recognize that very tough competitors come from every region of the country.

Edgar are u related?

"In 2010 Tyler Beckwith (NY), 171 lb. Champion won his 4th NHSCA crown, making him the first to do so! I think he would disagree"
Then Beckwith went out to Fargo and went 0-2. iIwould agree Virginia Beach has lost some of its prestige over the last few years, with most PA and OH guys not really showing up there any more.
Those PA and OH guys also are not showing up to Flo Nationals as well. They wrestle Super 32, High School season, then maybe Fargo. These elite guys are hounded to wrestle every event that someone wants to make 'elite' to make money off of it. The college coaches actually like the grade levels because they want to compare guys in a recruiting class.

I second that, Bob B.

lets get it done mark---thanx for your response however by now u know you couldn't have been more wrong!! You are guilty of over estimating Mongel or under estimating the Tank. I think you are guilty on both counts.
