The first headlock was thrown off on an attempted knee tap, it wasn't like he just went out and threw junk. The second one near the edge was thrown when Wanzek let his head come high. Having said that, it looks like Wanzek probably wins this match 60% of the time or so, but that's why we wrestle. If you don't want to get head and armed keep your head in good position.
Actually it looks like he lost a hundred percent of the match. cause there is only one winner and one loser

I meant Sopres not sure why it changed with my smart phone.

Very good scrambles both top notch Sopres, I think they are rated close and this match shows why. Great scrambles!

So the 3rd period takedown was not a take down by Berridge? I think that is what sealed the match

Reminds me of Metcalf Caldwell a little bit haha. Caldwell threw a nasty headlock than blocked with ties like crazy. So close to a takedown in the last 3 seconds...that was rough

This match raises all kinds of interesting questions. For example, is the headlock a junk move that stunts wrestlers' development, or an underused weapon that can completely change the outcome of a match? Is the strategy of cutting guys instead of riding them all it's cracked up to be? if you're riding a guy with a tied score and a minute to go, is it better to cut him and go for a take down, or ride him out and go for the take down in overtime? Which wrestler showed the greater variety of technique?

good match.... refs called that one perfect

Travis Berridge did plentyÂ…It's called stalling! You have to be kidding me? That ref. is either impaired mentally or has no clue about action!

Wanzek is clearly better but could not stay out of the BRANDON headlock.

Nice match.

It was a decent match...but the kid from Brandon didn't really do anything the entire match except for that nasty headlock. After that, it was all ear-to-ear ties and blocking out.
