bender is probably one of the most corrupt people in our sport and yet people still choose to follow him. this only have attracted bigger filth running our state organizations and ran them to the ground. nuway may not save our sport but i will damn well be a breath of fresh air into our sport and will help to preserve our folk wrestling. something that majority of our country does, not freestyle or greco.

Bender, now there's a piece of work.

Why is Rich Bender offering money to people to go away. Why is the state director making people choose between supporting a new organization and supporting the freestyle/greco movement. Should they not co-exist? Let me tell you why this is happening: because folkstyle wrestling events in CA represent 70% of the states participation and revenue rates and CA USA Card and Service Revenue represents the largest state source in the country for Mr. bender. FYI a change is coming my friend, resign or retreat those are your two options.

Its not disengenious or opportunist, but just common sense. NUWAY/MYWAY has been operating for almost a decade now and the system works. Imagine if this system had been in place 10yrs ago. Who's to say that all programs recently dropped on the West Coast, wouldn't still be here. I'd much rather try something new than continue to do the same old thing that has done nothing to help our folkstyle wrestling in the US.

Nuway 3 years ago

Nuway might be able to help provide some financial support to schools but the amount of revenue needed is no where enough to support the college programs. It is almost like you see the college programs dropping and you are using NUWAY sees an opening to market what they are doing. It is almost disengenious and opportunist.

Who knows though. Maybe I will be wrong.

This is why the NUWAY movement needs to keep spreading to help protect our folkstyle wrestling, the style that majority of wrestlers compete in. USAW can keep freestyle and greco, let each state run its folkstyle organizations and quit trying to bully them into submission. People would be interested to know just how many times RIch Bender has been on the phone with "offers" to try and shut these people done.

I think USAW is a joke, expensive and too big brotherish for me. freestyle in my opinion is what fingerpainting is to art.

The inner circle of USAW don't really give a crap about wrestling in our state. Their only concern is lining their pockets more on the blood and sweat of the youth wrestlers in this country. When are people going to wake up and realize USAW is not the savior for our sport. If states are on their way to developing a NUWAY model right now, there will be no wrestling in this country.

unfortunately, that is the current consensus amongst the inner circle at USA Wrestling.

That is the dumbest thing I've heard. You honestly think dropping college programs will help our sport? You drop college programs, there will be NO PROGRAMS to wrestle at. No one in this country will all of the sudden decide to wrestle freestyle simply because its the only option. We barely have anyone wrestling freestyle now because the style is so weak to watch.

It could be a positive thing about dropping programs at the college level, because more people will switch to freestyle and compete at the world level. Remember, the only way U.S. can be Numero Uno is to wrestle freestyle. Just something to think about.
