The real question is: Why was Colbey shooting a double leg with an overhook?

rob 1 year ago

thats an easy 2 call his knees and hands were touching the mat when he spun behind

Lee Broyles 1 year ago

2 All day long long! All of his weight was on his arm that was on the mat!

Donald Weekley 2 years ago

2 point takedown, NO QUESTION. He posted his left arm on the mat to support his body weight... No doubt 2 takedown!!!!

2 point takedown.

I like the call based on everything that was going on. Great offensive aggressive move to win it.
It would have been tough to denie that effort.

A good ref isn't looking for all the criteria to make the call when it happens quickly like that. They can feel it. They know when the manuever works and when it is half assed, just for show.
That was well done.

one knee two hands down. ref smurf says two..i might have changed the call if a scramble followed, for reaction time. but he clearly held control.

CAwrestler 2 years ago

hand on the ground. offensive wrestler behind. i give it 2. but its close. depends on the ref

DLV-NorCalD1 2 years ago

I'd give it 2, it was quick but it was a takedown. I wanna know if the offensive wrestler was locking hand though.

2 takedown

Little Kid Ref 2 years ago

Rule is that you need 3 supporting points of contact. Depends on interpretation, because he needs some weight on at least 1 hand, how much depending on the ref...

Zeke 2 years ago

Has to be two weight on the hands beyond reaction time.

His hands can touch the mat without it being two. Watch the Ncaa semis Russell v. Marion.

Takedown!
Rule 5-26; Article 2; …A takedown shall be awarded when one or both knees of the defensive wrestler are touching the mat beyond reaction time or when the defensive wrestler’s legs or torso are controlled and the majority of the weight is supported by the hands.
He took him down to the mat under control, all the while the defensive wrestler was bearing weight on his left hand and knee.
Great maneuver!

jte 3 years ago

After the first look, I said "No takedown" the take down was not beyond reaction time.

But upon further review (like the 4tha or 5th review) I noticed that the defensive wrestler posts his left hand on the mat twice. The first time he pushes off with his left hand it is reaction time, the second time he does so it is a new move, therefore TWO TAKEDOWN.
However it took several viewings to come to that conclusion, and if I were on the mat I probably would have called "No Takedown".
