174 lbs match Matt Brown PSU vs. Chris Perry OSU
You make the call
During the Texas girls state finals there was a quick call on a takedown, how would you have scored this?
Escape and takedown
Here is a situation where the ref awarded an escape and then a takedown and we want to know what you think about the call. JoeFlo and Bader disagree with each other, Joe thinks it was the right call but Bader doesn't.
You make the call No reaction time in college
There is no more reaction time in college wrestling. Lehigh's Joey Napoli comes very close to getting a takedown and we want your input, when he has the arm drag with his left hand and his right hand comes around the hip is he far enough around the corner for this to be considered a takedown?
Is this a takedown?
In the 132lb Texas state finals Scott Akers and Petey Martinez get into a scramble and end up in a potential stalemate situation when the referee awards a takedown. Maybe I don't know the rules as well as I thought, but it sure doesn't look like a takedown to me. This was the first takedown of the match and Akers went on to win 5-0.

You Make the Call! Oklahoma State Finals Match 92lb. 2011.AVI
Drew Pappadopoulos vs Abney 2011, Div 4, 92lb Oklahoma State Finals Match. Use the Pause / Play button to pause around the 2 second and 1 second mark on the time clock. Click fast and you can advance frame by frame . Camera goes off to the left as the ref's award the 2 points for the take down (sorry). At the one second mark, there are two frames you can clearly see Abney on all fours, in bounds, both of Drews armes under Abneys (double under hooks) with full control. After discussion, both refs called the take down before time ran out and awarded two points. Watch all of the table workers, are they paying attention to the clock? Watch all three of there faces and where they are looking when time expired. They did not even throw the towl in (on the left side of the table). Watch the center table worker. Who is he cheering for and why is a table worker cheering? Based on where the take down occured how could the table workers see the takedown? With this in mind, how could they make any judgement regarding where on the time clock the takedown occured. The table worker running the clock, (on right) does not even look at the clock or his control panel. (Neither do the other two). According to the ref's, the take down was not in question, the center table worker said time ran out. Based on that, the score was reversed. Why would two ref's that made the same call in front of the time clock, let the table worker, who was not even looking at the clock, could not see the takedown, and had no clue where they were in the match (obvious from watching the video) reverse a call that the ref's discussed a full 30 seconds before making? This kind of indecision should not have happened in any match, much less at a State Finals Match! Like the most famous wrestling coach ever, told Drew after this match, "your going to get bad calls all of your life, take them in stride and use them as fuel for future matches". YOU MAKE THE CALL!
