One day Dan Gable and Joeflo were talking. When Joe explained he lived in Austin, it reminded coach Gable of an interesting story.

My senior year we were wrestling IOWA and I was in the wrestling room on the stationary cutting 6 lbs by myself. Gable walked in and I was thinking "Holy sh@# its Dan Gable!!" I wanted to hop off the bike and shake his hand but at the time it didnt seem right...he was looking at the past MSU All-americans on the wall then walked over to the Big Ten Champ wall. You could tell he was going down memory lane...he then jumped up on the old ladder mounted on the ceiling and did 34 pullups....THIRTY FOUR PULL UPS I counted out of the corner of my eye! He then walked over and got on the windjammer bike next to me and revved it up to about 9000rpms for about 15 minutes...I couldnt get off the bike before him so I just kepted pedaling...Gable got off in a full sweat. He was wearing a nice Asics warmup and polo, something you normally wouldnt just soak, but looking at the wall must have got his blood pumping! Thanks Coach I was a pound under!! What up!!!

Just reflecting on who has been a 'Dan Gable' in my life, and can I follow the example and be a difference maker in someones life..........thanks for the posting

Great story! Joe how lucky are you to hang out with Dan Gable on such a relaxed and personal level. Thanks for bringing that interview to the community. I think the moral of the story is if you hang around Dan Gable you will at least be a All-American.
