Doub Schwab talks about doubt and how most everybody has it no matter how they carry themselves. Schwab, a sports Psyche guy goes into how peoples fear is about getting tired. He also talks about how peoples mental is kinda like a guitar and how they need to keep it in tune.

agreed...our hs coach (bloomington kenndy, sharatt, ness, morgan, etc ) had on wall..."fatugue makes cowards of us all" key is learning how to cope.

Perfect example of what he is talking about is J. Jaggers. Look at his record in his senior year - took a lot of chances, didn't fatique himself out and was more than ready and full of confidence when the NCAA's came around. On the other hand - lost some dual matches that he probably should have won. 6 of one and 1/2 dozen of the other....

Still good message and I see his examples more in HS wrestlers than at collegiate level - especially when very good wrestlers meet another very good wrestler.

Watched Mark Schwab wrestle in the great state of Iowa as a High Schooler, then as a collegiate. Loved listening to him in this interview. Great insight for not only a wrestler, but an athlete in ANY sport.

man, this summed my career up. especially the fatigue part. my mind was always so focused on conserving energy I wouldn't take chances. Moreso the older I got. Lost many matches I shouldn't have. I'd out think myself constantly. Wish I woulda had a few more concussions to knock me a little more senseless.

Great interview. Tell my youth guys all the time..."stop thinking and just wrestle" .....concentrate on scoring point, points, points and pinning not winning and losing.

Great stuff, some guys tend to mind-fu** themselves out of matches just by thinking too much. I'm guilty

GREAT CLIP!
You must train your mind just as you train your body, to simply react. "muscle memory/cognitive memory".
