You are going to brawl with a wrestler from Iowa? Weist was so winded at 3:15, Metcalf basically through him like he was a practice dumby. Why does Iowa slap and at times punch guys in their heads at the first whistle? To make it a brawl and pull them into their match. No one trains like Iowa, so don't think your going to hand fight and go forward for 3 periods like them. |

Metcalf is dominant so people hate on him. He exemplifies what Iowan's love about the sport. May not be the most technically sound but will outwork you. Disappointing that he lost in the finals last year but Gable had his slip up as well. Just shows how hard of a sport wrestling really is and as fans we should appreciate that. |

Caldwell was so gassed against metcalf..... caldwell just has a lot of natural talent! metcalf has a lot to prove this year though because many people thought this guy (metcalf) was indestructible and he isn't and he will never be!!! he is a great wrestler don't get me wrong, but he isn't indestructible!!!!! |

Brent Metcalf is what this sport needs, his hard nose style speaks for itself. It has been a pleasure to watch him wrestle through out the years from his high school days to present day. I'm no Iowa fan but you have to appreciate what he does on the mat. |

dont hate on metcalf. he has never known another way to wrestle other than intense, in your face wrestling. roy hall of davison to tom brands of iowa, thats why. and watch howe of wisconson wrestle, he pushes more people off the mat than anyone, it/s not iness it is straight up nasty in your face wrestling. i love the style. |

Metcalf always moving looking for the angles and penetrates deep. I like his intensity and the little shoves he gives are there to let the other guy know to he's in charge of the match. |

Metcalf just wrestles with a lot of intensity. He is aggressive all the time and does not let up when he is near the edge of the mat - nor should he. He always gives a little shove to the opponent after the whistle blows. Nothing rough, but just enough to separate himself from the opponent. Pretty sure he wouldn't care if his opponent does it - which they also do often. I'm disappointed he won't have a chance to wrestle Caldwell this year. It would be a great match. Metcalf needed some time off over the summer - he had been wrestling way too much since his sopre year. |

metcalf used more muscle than technique in this match, he also looked very slish.Do they give less points for takedowns, reversals, escapes, and pinning combos for using too much muscle and no enough technique? |

I hope the next guy he takes down like that out of bounds or the next guy who he pushes into an opposing teams bench locks up a guillotine on him and puts him to sleep. Screw the dq, it would be great to see him humbled a bit. |

I personally hope Metcalf gets embarrassed again this year. He's a phenom on the mat but I knew him in H.S. and he was the opposite off the mat. |
