I was fortunate enough as a high school senior to attend the Gramby School of Wrestling in Virginia. During the many differnt classes at the school I had a chance to interact with Billy Martin and he was wrestling for the Univeristy of Iowa at the time. I must say from my meeting with him, he's a real solid individual. And believe it or not he has a great sense of humor too. If your a serious high school wrestler, I highly recommend the Gramby School of Wrestling. |

My dad wrestled in VA in the early 60's and recently commented that alot of the real wrestling went down in "Martin's Barn" across the line in MD on the weekends in the off season. I wondder how much truth there is to that, or if anyone out there remembers. As far as the workout, one word: intensity. |

ODU is taking giant steps in their program, Martin who wrestled at iowa is building an east coast powerhouse based on the Iowa program work ethic and the great success his family has had at the HS level you gotta love his passion. |

Martin is extremely beat up. About the only time he looks normal is when he is in a wrestling stance. He can't hardly walk anymore, but he is one tough dude. His body has went through a lot. He is one intense character. |
