Its obvious USA wrestling tied Martin and Joe's hands for this event, they didn't get the personel interviews we all love. The Ncaa
coverage was out of this world with live action and personel stuff. I guess the sitdown Martin had with USA wrestling where they claimed they would be cooperative with FLO was just talk.
Let FLO be FLO this style needs all the help it can get.
They had the same access every other media outlet did. The exact same.

Wow, apparently you've never heard of the USOEC.

Hey Anonymous Coward ... who said Iowa was the wrestling capital of the US? That's crazy ... How many Iowans qualified for this years NCAA's? Spokane was great, yes, CB, Iowa was a disgrace, but ANY high school in PA, NJ, OH or NY could have more than tripled the attendance this years event garnered.

someone should start a wrestling club that does stricly freestyle and/or greco and can provide schlarship money for college so that kids dont have to wrestle in scholastically to get a scholarship for college and can wrestle freestyle throughout their wrestling career instead of change from folkstyle to freestyle or greco each year. it would definitly help the us' wrestling on the international level

I thought Iowa was the wrestling capital of the US? 500 fans in the stands is all that state could manage? What a joke!

Bring it back to the NW where in Spokane, they had the largest attendance of any WTT's.

i'm glad tervel won. he's got moves and take downs and has a chance to do well against foreign wreslters. mocco, from what i've seen, is just a bull who gets most of his points by pushing out of bounds. i'd like to see that rule gone. winning a match by pushing someone out of bounds is sumo -- not wrestling

are any of the matches archived at all?

now that lsv didn't archive ANY of the videos, I guess all the matches will just sink into antiquity? Were no vids recorded??

I live around the area and can tell you that the Mid american center does a horrible job on actually advertising anything they bring in there. I was horrified that a state where the sport is as big as it is didn't have the turn out it should. The wrestling was great. I was fortunate enough to work the tourney and my son got an awesome chance to see the kind of dedication and commitment this sport takes. I just wish that more people knew it was there. I guess if it had revolved around the corn huskers than the local media would have paid more attention. Go hawkeye's.

Fan attendance looked a little scarce. You could almost count the number of people in the stands. Being in Iowa I thought they would get a much better turnout. Internet coverage worked well and I really enjoyed the tournament.

Would not be able to take the money without losing their NCAA status. It is like prize money

Hows the money thing work? If Schlatter win a gold can he take the money without losing his last year in NCAA?

Where can I find videos of the matches?

i would be very annoyed to hear him screaming like that

If Flo covered the WTT's, there would be tremendous excitement. What Martin may lack in refined broadcasting skills, he more than makes up with "Juice." I think Jason Bryant does a good job commentating, maybe if we paired him with Martin, maybe Jason would pick up from Martino that is PERFECTLY FINE to question Management when they are doing a poor job,. Imagine turning on the feed and it sounds like this:

Until USAW pulls their heads out, most of our best guys will continue to be one and done.

So looking at the participants list for the World team trials on Trackwrestling… I see some names that I was not expecting.

Askren, Ben-74kg
Cejudo, Henry-55kg
Lawal, Mo-84kg
Pendleton, Chris-84kg
Can anyone confirm these? Not to say these guys are out of wrestling by any means, but I know Askren and Lawal have been fighting. Chris has been in the OSU room? Cejudo has been traveling non-stop, and I heard rumor he was/is boxing, but has he been wrestling. I once heard Terry Brands (could’ve been Tom) say that kids are dreaming of State Championships, but instead they should be dreaming of World Championships. High School kids aside, are our “best” doing that??
