While hanging out around St. Louis a couple days before the 2009 NCAA Championships we ran into Jordan Burroughs after he got in a workout. He gives us his thoughts on the tough 157 weight class and how he has managed to stay unbeaten going into the big show.

i think it would be a good match to because you have to ncaa champs this year caldwell beat metcalf and i know he could do it one more time but jordan burroughs vs caldwell would be an awsome match up to see i think caldwell mite bump up to 157 next year

I think that Metcalf and burroughs now would be a great match. I think your right 8 out of 10 times Caldwell would win just a freak and awesome wrestler to watch. I really thought Metcalf would be the next 3 timer going ??-1 with only the fluke loss to Caldwell

would like to see a burroughs v caldwell matchup, been watching both guys since hs. burroughs bloomed a little later than darrion but to me is more solid and basic in his style. darrion is a straight freek with his. both kids are extremely tough and tenacious. it almost happened last year in the ncaa's but they both lost in the semis. it would be a great matchup, ps. both of these kids are way too physical for metcalf now. he better stay at 49 next year.

Jordan, continue to be the humble classy guy you are. Way to represent NJ wrestling. Been keeping an eye on you and Vince since HS. You two have made the South jersey wrestling community proud.

Did you see what Leen did to JP Oc last time they wrestled! Leen may not win but Out of shape Poeta a hurt JP Oc leaves Moley Gillespie Burroughs. Leen will win on conditioning. What a great class!

Poeta's taking it home and thats final.

Man, 157 is BRUTAL this year. I would bet any money on any one person to win it. JB, Leen, Poeta, Sanderson, Chandler. etc, etc. I can't wait!!
as in etc, etc.. you mean 07 national champ and 08 5th in nation Gregor Gillespie

Dong is a junk wrestler that the crowd will catch on his style. Riding legs and doing nothing us will not work in March. I have one word - overrated.

Jesse Dong is amazing..

Burroughs is takin this thing home!

dirtyrice 4 years ago

really guys come on now poeta is good and so is gillispie but I mean Burroughs is 30-0 for a reason so in my book he is the front runner but needless to say no matter what happens the semis in this weight class will be action packed i mean whenever u can maybe have a repeat of the national championship from last years match in the semis is saying something.

funknasty 4 years ago

this is my dude, my all time favorite wrestler right hurr, i respect everyones opion but this guy is going to win it all this year and next.

P.S GOOD LUCK JORDAN

jerseyboys 4 years ago

I agree with A.C., but Jordan Leen has been wrestling great, and could beat Poeta.

Poeta wins, he's super quick! Unless his conditioning is a factor, he won't be denied his senior year

jake h. 4 years ago

poeta will win 157 100% sure of it
