Im a former spartan wrestler as well, i wrestled there for 2 years with britain. He and his family came from ohio on there own free will. i tell you from experience cimarron does not recruit. its all rumors by ppl who hate us because were the sh!t. WE WIN and DOMINATE! our practices are harder than any other program in the state Jeffries and Garcia are amazing coaches who turn nobodies into champions. And champions into beasts. You Cowards get beat by us and just hide behind a key board and talk, why dont you leave it ON THE MAT!! WHERE IT COUNTS!

i go to GV and you guys didnt even come close to beating us over the summer and that wasnt even our full varsity team so idk how well you'll do against cimmeron. no offense.

I used to be good friends with Chad years ago, how can you people sit there and call him mean? He is very quiet, nice, and was pretty funny, we used to call him Q-Tip back in the day. He was always a good wrestler, not traditional in the least bit though. He has done really well for himself.

Cimarron is a freaking great program year in and year out... theres no denying that, whether or not they recruit makes no difference to me. No i wrestle at Palo Verde and i've been watching Cimarron for years, theres a reason that people want to go to cimarron. In the past 10 years, cimarron has taken state i believe 8 times and had numerous individual champions and placers. I mean sure i despise Cimarron because they recruit but it just makes beating them so much better, which we will do because cimarrons lost everybody except Colby Garrison and Aaron Garcia which are for sure state champs this year. And heck all of the cimarron wrestlers i know are good kids, they just want to wrestle at their best potential. "If your not cheating, your not trying to win..."

Bittian came from Ohio to live with is father and his father lives in the Cimarron zone.Travis moved from MO five years ago and live in Mojave zone until lates summer when is parents moved to a new house that was zone for Cimarron. After all the crap that happen at Mojave with the coach and adim his parent did not want their youngs child to start her high with a bad taste in her mouth. Can't you people just leave things alone. Are you so board you need to start chap up with anyone that will read or listen. My advise to you is GET A LIFE OF YOUR OWN AND LEAVE OTHERS ALONE.

I can name specific coaches who absolutely despise Jeffries and Garcia. Don't even try to tell me that Cimarron didn't recruit DeGroat. How does a kid who lives in a school zone far from Cimarron's school zone end up wrestling for Cimarron. I know DeGroat doesn't live in the Cimarron school zone. How does something incredible like that happen. I'll tell you. There are one of two ways. In the Clark County School District a kid can get a thing called a zone variance. However, NIAA rules and Clark County School District rules forbid issuing zone variances for athletic purposes. So, what happens? Bam! Rich kid's apartment complex. Address change. Zipp-o! For some reason, a kid named Zeth St. Claire whose family lives in Reno, whose home address is in Reno, who wrestles for Wooster high school, ends up wrestling at Cimarron. Tell me. Zeth St. Claire was not some kid that walked in to a courtroom with an emancipation from his parents like Joey Martin who came all the way from Connecticut to wrestle at a less-than-average program like Durango. No, he was still under the legal guardianship of his parents and he still was zoned for Wooster! EXPLAIN TO ME HOW ZETH ST. CLAIRE, BRITAIN LONGMIRE (from Ohio), BERNARD GOONAN (from Australia), AND TRAVIS DEGROAT WHO AREN'T EVEN ZONED FOR CIMARRON, WRESTLE FOR THEM? IT'S IN DIRECT VIOLATION OF NIAA RULES.

I'm not saying that Cimarron is the only school in Vegas that does this. Las Vegas has recently acquired a bunch of wrestlers that are zoned and previously went to Mojave and Green Valley somehow acquired Jeremy Padilla from Liberty.
I'm sick and tired of Cimarron gaining the edge on all of the other teams in Nevada by directly violating NIAA rules. Here's an idea for Cimarron. They should make a magnet school on campus and then they can legally recruit anyone from the valley to go and wrestle there.
On another note. I'm not a wrestler. I am an avid supporter and fan of wrestling and I've been following wrestling in Nevada closely for years now seeing as that is where I live. I know many coaches and supporters in Nevada as well and many of them speak about how they have become disappointed with the loss of integrity of Jeffries and Garcia.
On one final note. I'm glad there will always be people out who rise above the loss of integrity and defeat you guys. People like Thomas Kanski, Angelo Antuna and Nick Williams.
I am a family friend and I personal know that Travis DeGroat moved over the summer. He and his family follow all the rule that the NIAA set. He and his parent have a felling out with Mojave's admin and the head coach. The family need to start fresh and at a new school for him and his sister that is a freshman. The DeGroat are good people christian people and believe in following GOD way not mans way. They would never allow their children to be recruited, they believe in doing thing the right way not the wrong way. If you really want to know something just ask the person or the DeGoat they will tell you anything you what to know. They have nothing to hide and will alway be truthful. Their rule is tell the truth or say nothing at all.

Anonymous Coward you dont know what the hell yur talking about cimarron is the best school in Nevada and i bet you anything that were winning state and even the 103

HAHA 4 years ago

Funny thing. I wrestled in College with a Cimarron grad, three timer I think, plus Fargo AA. At any rate, he is an A-hole, if you don't know him, or are one of his ladies. For my part, I find the Cimarron folks to be funny, hard working, and y as heck...it's a pretty tough team. Jealousy is the most flattering form of respect.

You still didn't answer the question. How is getting kids to wrestle at your school when they live in a different school zone without a zone variance not in direct violation of NIAA rules?

Eastside 4 years ago

Yeah, yeah, yeah...rise above us. Mojave fell apart, most of the remaining Mojave kids went to different schools. Home boy from down under, what was that like 2003 (Your reaching) was in a exchange program. You can't blame Randy for it all there are plenty of kids who lived in the Cimarron zone and dominated. And people like Angelo were suppose to win, they were good wrestlers...again your reaching. What did he do...he beat Orians in finals at reginals and at state...reaching back to 2003?

These coaches can bad mouth Cimarron guys just they coach better than those other guys do. Good wreslers come from all over the Valley to work with those guys for nationals after the season is over. Go ahead and be bitter. If your are a bulldog fan, which it looks like it, you are suppose to hate Cimarron but don't blame the kids and the coaches. All you have is hear-say and that shows you are classless. Until something is proven all you guys can do is make up excuses why your team, your kid, your school falls to Cimarron year in and year out.

As a former Spartan I can tell you we did not recruit. As a coach for a california school I can tell you they still do not recruit.1st Mojove fell apart leaving the underclassmen to go different ways. 2nd Anonymous coward, you must have bad blood with Cimarron. Maybe they are the hump that you never could get over. I know looking at Britian you could not wrestle with him. Even if he was a freshmen. Until you come with some pic or write up or even place and score where it happened you will still be a Coward. Even worse a b!tch. Cimarron is an elite program in Nevada. Former wrestlers can say what they want but other coaches do respect the Cimarron coaches. For knowing their names like you do if I had to guess.....I would say you got your a$$ beat on, you continue to watch your little brother get his a$$ beat on and it hurts you to see it still going on. Just face it you are an Anonymous Loser. The track record follows those who have that kind of outlook on other programs.

Just stay Anonymous, you give up any school name or year you will get called out. Stay behind the keyboard. Just ask if you want to know anything.

I come from Nevada and I've heard the same things about Cimarron.

Everyone in Nevada knows Cimarron recruits. They got Pami and Musser from other school zones by writing their names in on Randel Aleman's dad's apartment complex address. Hell, Zeth St. Claire transferred all the way from Wooster in Reno without his family to live in Aleman's complex so he could wrestle for Cimarron. Then look at Bernard Goonan, they recruited him all the way from Australia. Longmire is just another kid Cimarron recruited. I feel sorry for Jeffries and Garcia. The wrestling community used to hold them in high regard when they coached over at Vegas and didn't pull cheap stuff. Now most coaches hate them. I can't wait to see them get stomped at state. Ashijian will get stomped by the kid from Sierra Vista or by some kid up north. Malvarez won't even make it to the finals, and DeGroat, THE KID THEY RECRUITED FROM MOJAVE, is going to get wrecked by the kid from Clark.

On one other note. Applause to Jake Evans for resisting the recruitment of the Cimarron people.

Chad isn't from Ohio. He just has an unorthodox wrestling style compared to sharp shooters.

Ayafuya,
Chad ain't from Ohio. He's been wrestling at San Jacinto high since he's frshman year.

ayafuya 4 years ago

Joe Flo,

Thornock transferred in from Ohio this year and other kid is from Nevada so their wrestling-style, i.e. arm deep on front headlock, is not indicative of CA wrestling.

nagger 4 years ago

WOW! Last year's 5 counties champion pinned in the 1st round! This is the first time i've seen Thornock. I've heard alot about his past success, and when i first saw him...he didn't look that good to me. It sure changed when i saw how easily he got that cross-face to a craddle to easilty.
