Anthony Robles has his advantages and disadvantages JUST LIKE ANY OTHER WRESTLER. He's just another wrestler guys.

grappler 2 years ago

i changed my mind about robles after seeing him beat by sanders. i originally thought he had unfair advantage because of his upper body strength makes him more like 141 or 149 pounder. but after seeing this match, i realize i was just "hatin" on him. to get to where he is, he had to work harder than any other normal wrestler. he deserves respect as any champion wrestler should.

Robles is an un-natural human specimine.

Anonymous Coward 2 years ago

Robles has a major differance with strength he is like a 55 wrestling 25 so there is his advantage to a disadvantage leg so it equals its self out its a fair match and sanders is just a badass

GRECO CHUCK 2 years ago

Seriously?! Very sad that you would make that kind of a comment. Thats how Robles is, and has really put in the time and energy to perfect his wrestling. Think about it. There's no reason to question this guy.

I'm also neutral on this debate of advantage or disadvantage. robles is a great wrestler but if he had two legs he would be wrestling 141 and would have even tougher competition.

Can you please tell me how he has any advantage anywhere please tell how he has any advantage. If he had two legs he would have so much more power in his shots and ground game

really? 3 years ago

Crippled bastard? who the hell are you to say that? you gotta admire that this kid is competing in D1 with the best guys in the country. two legs or not....he's one heck of a kid. once he gets on top, its just like any other match.
you really think that he was attacking robles for having one leg? it was a sarcastic remark making fun of the posters who are saying its an unfair advantage that he has only one leg.

thats bs robles would not be even wrestling d1 if he had both of his legs that crippled bastard

hadi 3 years ago

why is everyone wasting their time crying about this?! its neutral. yes he has only one leg but thats a blessing AND curse. he cant do as much moves as a normal wrestler however, how many moves can you do to a guy with one leg? nobody usually wrestlles one legged wrestlers while he wrestles two legged wrestlers all the time meaning he is used to it while others have no idea how to even wrestle him. he lacks a leg but his upper body makes up for it. NOBODY has the advantage. its a matter of knowing how to use his leg for an advantage or disadvantage! zach exposed his weakness. its fair so stop this debate its rather pointless.

ya and you suck

anthony robles 3 years ago

It was a tough match zack is a excellent wrestler he is very good

sherms 4 years ago

For being a one-legged wrestler, Anthony Robles has true talent and will forever be a motivational story in the sport of Wrestling. Keep it up man.

Waffles 4 years ago

advantage on top only.
disadvantage on bottom and neutral

Brandon Hancock 4 years ago

your a , robles has ONE leg........he is the one with an unfair DISadvantage, although he is very very strong, having one leg takes alot out of his move list, and makes him very unbalanced compared to the balance of other kids with two legs....
agreed, not to mention he killed sanders at ncaa's. he got so pissed

ok 4 years ago

really the only position robles has advantage is top, but he needs that extra strength cause he cant apply hip pressure, still in neutral and bottom hes still at a huge disadvantage......

John Barr 4 years ago

how can you say he has an advantage. yes, he has a lot of upper body strength, but everyone he wrestles has an advantage on him. they all have an extra leg

huh 4 years ago

Robles has an unfair advantage ... huge upper body, like a 157lber vs. 125lbers --- yeah, real fair. Good to see Sanders beat him.

toolman 4 years ago

This kid Robles has a huge advantage, he has the upper body strength of a 174 pounder and nobody can hit a double leg, switch, or ride legs one this guy, I think it is unfair that he wrestles this weight
I agree, how you suppose to shoot on this guy and that upper body strength is crazy on Robles.

Ed the Doober 4 years ago

Oh yeah, Anthony beat Sanders at the NCAAs. That alone is a testament to how hard of a worker and how great of an athlete he is.

Ed the Doober 4 years ago

Technically, anyone can downblock on one knee for a whole match. Just watch Chase Pami from Cal Poly. He spends all of his freakin' matches on his knees. Not that I have a problem with that. That is just how he wrestles.

he only started wrestling in 9th ot 10th grade so he has less expirience than most top ranked guys also i bet he dosnt look at it like a disadvantage so why should we its just different

ChrisJohnson 4 years ago

He has the biggest dis-advantage in the world almost, one leg, body strength didn't make him a good wrestler, Pure will and practice did, took him a lot longer to get where is at than Sanders.

ya know what i think is a disadvantage....haveing one leg duhhh

cschrupp 4 years ago

I don't think it's totally out of the question to say that it's an advantage for Robles. He has been wrestling, what, his whole life like that? In college, Sanders will probably run into him a few more times, but aside from that, how many of us have ever wrestled someone with one leg who is allowed to sit on it for the entire match? I do think that Robles is at a disadvantage with having one leg, but he also has an advantage. Guys basically have to drop down and go upper body with him instead of being able to attack the legs. I'm sure it's an odd situation that could force even the best wrestlers out of their usual style.

Comment to Just Saying:

The city of Mesa Arizona has a wrestling program that all Mesa Public Schools participate in which includes the 7th grade thru 9th Grade. I have seen him wrestle since he was in 7th Grade.
Mesa Public Schools, all freshmans attend a Junior High School, they are elgible for participation at the High School Level and participate in the Junior High School athletic activities.

Zach Gerberick 4 years ago

He is now an all-american ...he's a beast and an inspiration and a flat out good person. He has a chance to win a national title as a soph, he's in the semis. Go Robles!
